Ok now I'm doing that with the men's half pipe. Aaaaaaaaaaa WHAT

I'm kind of gratified that the announcers are also gobsmacked. "Good Lord!" "Oh my goodness!" "Good heavens!"
I laughed out loud multiple times while watching freestyle skiing slope style. Like WHAT. Skiing backwards, landing on rails and sliding down, flipping upside down WHAT

Please stop spreading misinformation, please do not post that they had to close the air space over El Paso because the president was sundowning and took Air Force One out for a joyride and now he is doing barrel rolls over West Texas while JD Vance clings to the wing like that Twilight Zone gremlin

Maybe it should be a bigger story that Republicans apparently never know what's happening
CNBC: How unusual is it for a senator to not know what's happening when the FAA shuts down airspace for a major airport for 10 days?

MARKWAYNE MULLIN: It's not really my lane right now. It's just not something I'm dealing with. We got so many things we're working on around the world, like Iran

the rollout of the mRNA vaccines was one of the greatest public health triumphs in history and the end result has been the all-around triumph of the antivax movement and I will never get over it

Finally got to see Brandi Carlile live tonight! Her voice was transporting. It was fantastic to hear that gorgeous sound fill up the arena. At the end she stuck around on stage, drinking the experience in (it was her first arena concert)

it drives you insane how much erosion of freedom is justified by concern for kids when the people who actually hurt them will never face consequences

One of the most miserable things about living in this era is having to watch the stupidest & most arrogant people in the world have to relearn The Why of literally everything good that we collectively do the hard way.

The answer is always ‘Because a bunch of people died, fuckwit.’

Interesting thread if you, like me, were equal parts irritated and scared at how much gen AI was being pushed in the commercials last night
Any history of technology people know if there are other technologies that were touted as "here to stay" in the manner of generative AI that...didn't stay?
i guess worth looking into whether people were similarly convinced about other technologies in the past
