Even a failed experiment should teach you something, but I still can't figure out what I'm supposed to learn from my life. She/her
I was dreading this phase of apologia: digging more into the victims to do more targeted victim blaming.

This is how rape-apologia functions most of the time. People will state that they abhor the crime and stand with victims, then put so many requirements for who qualifies as a [perfect] victim.

such is the power of discourse: a violation (of the law, of a moral boundary, of a permission boundary, etc) only exists in a socially recognizable way if he who holds the monopoly on legitimate force, he who enjoys the prerogative to govern other bodies thru violence, says it does.

This is why I hate the patriarchal mythology that proximity to girls makes them protective, particularly men but also patriarchal women. It doesn't make child rape abhorrent to them when it's in-group men, only as a weapon to other out-group men.
Notably, Kelly is the mother of a 14-year old girl. Like, I know she's a soulless propagandist, but how does she not hear herself in the context of being a mother?

when you understand that patriarchy views children as sexual property it all makes sense. there's no hypocrisy. exposure to queerness & transness threatens to "corrupt" the father's property, to "lead them astray" into self-determination, to taint their future sexual value. CSA is permissible as >
Thatcher's government did this with Section 28, banned the "promotion of homosexuality" as a danger to children, while actively protecting Jimmy Savile and who knows how many other pedophiles. It's the same damn playbook.
I cannot begin to properly articulate how upsetting it is to have had people baselessly accuse trans people of being groomers and pedophiles only for it to come out that they were deliberately doing this as part of a project to provide cover to actual groomers and pedophiles in positions of power

This is not an aberration, nor is it a titillating tale of pervy old guys.

The oppression of women, including via sexual crimes, is a pillar of the global POLITICAL economy.

It's why power & wealth are distributed as they are: maintaining that distribution requires collective action by many men.

Hey so “underage girls” are…children. The word you’re looking for is children. They’re not like, women-in-waiting or women-lite or whatever. They’re children. I think some of you are very uncomfortable with what that means for you but it is still true.

Diaspora communities participate in this via something of an international 'honor culture'. Many assiduously champion their homeland cultures without knowing what it's like to actually grow up in it. No, my culture is very progressive and modern and not at all "backwards", white man! How dare you!

I was listening to Trevor Noah critizing Saudi Arabia's comedy festival.. and he casually mentioned being friends with Luis CK!

I didn't know that Luis CK was integrated back into the "polite" society of american comedy. Ig it's true that the backlash managed to erase almost all of #MeToo

Last year they published a race science article that was so bad it caused critics to despair for the future of academic publishing. This year they've published an article claiming women are destroying academia, because men, unlike women, can have reproductive success without their children surviving

The stuff Jeffrey Epstein’s friends felt comfortable saying and drawing in grotesque detail with their names attached knowing they would not face consequences is the kind of thing I think of when I think about rape culture and how sexual violence against girls and young women is actually glorified

There isn't a "male loneliness epidemic" as in "men not able to sleep with women they want to". Stop using the term, which is used for propaganda, not even to get back at incels.

The legitimate problem of loneliness isn't an epidemic & isn't particularly male, even though it has gendered aspects.

Four decades to remove and process the rubble alone, never mind the grief of losing the children buried underneath it, this has to stop.
By me: Millions of tonnes of rubble left by Israel’s destruction of Gaza could generate more than 90,000 tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions – and take as long as four decades to remove and process, a study has found.

Ex-farm worker here.

We need to talk about this whole "But a living wage for farm workers would spike the cost of food!" thing.

Not true AT ALL.

Y'all don't understand how fast experienced farm workers are.

The average tomato picker pulls 650lbs per hour.

At $20/hr, that's $0.03/lb for labor.
