Grumpy grumbling about people complaining about ” True Name ” tropes in myth and fiction is making me a bit sad. Like sure I understand where you’re coming from to an extent but the thing about true name is so ingrained in human culture the type have it in pretty much every corner of the world.

You might like or dislike the lotr movies but god damn that cast gives everything they got and had such a tremendous consistency throughout the production. The hobbit movies really really lacked that.

they should invent a kids play area that is fun for adults too. adults shouldn’t have to wait in line behind 30 kids just to use the mini-zip line

I think the weirdest / funniest thing about squid game is that it ultimately highlights that most of our writers are male , at least the ones that get picked up. Not only that , they’re also males who have little interest in the female / woman experience. Like giving birth is one of the most

You could say the same for pickles but change mayo for sugar… damn vile what you guys do to such a simple thing.
We have kimchi in America, it is called coleslaw and you make it by substituting every step in kimchi preparation with mayonnaise

Just watched nosferstu rhe new version , and I remember you had misgivings about it but can’t remover what it was , for me it was an excellent update to an old gothic tale that predates European history even and draws upon many far reaching concepts etc

Watching wheel of time again and yeah it’s not the best adaptation and it def doesn’t have the budget or the writers of rings of power … but I still find it compelling and to my liking as Simone who has read the books multiple times.
