I love my opinion over minecraft being an effective foundation. It doesn’t need more and more (it does need an end update on the scale of either caves and cliffs or the nether update. And an update to enchanting) but it works by being simple.

I completely believe Caves & Cliffs was just as revolutionary for the direction of terrain mods/datapacks as its impact on Minecraft directly. Nostalgics won't get it, but 1.18 and everything using it as a foundation have a nearly unmatched execution of regional terrain variance.
