New Frankenstein: how are we going to act like the reason Victor abandoned his creation is because he had a bad home life? This is completely inaccurate to Shelley’s text. I loved the costumes and setting, but the plot and random and/or missing characters made this version unbearable.

Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein was about a wealthy white man who wanted power and a deformed “othered” man that was labeled a monster even though he tried to be the good spirit through his deeds. I’ve read it at least 20 times. What do men learn from cautionary tales?

7 internal autistic experiences I wish more people understood...
(These are not universal, but extremely common)
1. We rarely meet people with the same interests and struggle to find things to talk about with them

As an English teacher, I can say that this is a red flag for AI writing but only because we don’t teach the emdash in 9-12 except as part of SAT prep. Also, it’s really just a gotcha for teachers to prove students used AI. Good writers are still able to use it.
It’s absolutely insane to me that em dashes have generally been a favorite tool of writers since forever, but because tech companies stole the collective works of writers for their shitty AI programs, the presence of an em dash is now considered a red flag that AI was used to write something.

That’s the whole point. Corruption is on both sides.
In his crazy, frightened rant, Trump had one good point. Why didn’t Dems release the Epstein files? I’d be willing to sacrifice a Dem politician if it meant nailing Trump. That’s chess and politics 101. #transparency #politicalelite

I know it’s laughable and appalling, but @hakeem-jeffries.bsky.social calling out republicans without encouraging them to sincerely to do what’s right, is only going to make them vote for the bill. Democrats literally laughing at them. Join us is a good message tho.

So, it’s not about policy?
Jim Jordan on CNN: "We all wished it saved more money, but you know it's a good piece of legislation because every single Democrat hates it ... this is probably as good as it's going to get."

If one of these people is your senator, it is incredibly important that you call them today.
Urge them to vote NO on the Senate budget bill that would make most Americans poorer to give billionaires a tax cut they don't even need.

I’m missing the #Handsmaid’sTale already. Thank you for not disappointing. Okay, Nick could have survived… it works with #testaments, but it was realistic for him to die.

Just so we are clear, the weight loss industry should be dead because of GLP-1 drugs. They work by themselves. There isn’t a need for weight watchers, noom, or food services. If only they were covered by insurance…. It’s almost as if the two business models are in bed together.

Fitzgerald’s contemporaries were simply aghast by his bold criticisms of his own time period. He was a man before his time.
"The Great Gatsby" by F. Scott Fitzgerald, long considered a contender for the Great American Novel, was published 100 years ago this week. It got good reviews, but it sold poorly. Some of his contemporaries loved it, but it was mostly considered a disappointment compared to his previous novels.
