So:

-big impact on table dynamic. You can quickly threaten a low-creature deck, people will try to kill you
-lacks consistency a bit in particular getting poison started outside of creatures (or better avoidance)
-lacks ways to handle the threat you generate
-poison is still not that fun.

Still not a deck we play often in the end, "can you draw enough proliferate vs can the table kill me fast" (and it usually can, too few defensive/removal options) didn't make for fun games.

Even in an all-precon games, this painted a huge target to on my face.

Like many but the most recent precons it lacks consistency. Some games, I'd quickly have one or two players at 7-8 counters, some games I'd struggle to get the 1st one going because opponents had good enough blockers (hi Mirko)

I guess it depends on what you mean by "ease of play", but for extremely simple systems great for one-shots (and really far from the usual fantasy vibe) I'd recommend things like Mork Borg or Hypermall.
