I hear from folks all the time who tell me e-bikes keep them riding another 10 years longer than they otherwise would, or help them get around town when they are no longer able to drive. Especially with our limited bus system.

It's nice seeing the hardscapes being installed along SW Blvd for the new multi-use pedestrian-bicycle path. This should make riding a bicycle or walking much safer and more pleasant. Currently it's like riding a bicycle on a highway. Not fun

Next time someone asks you about energy and land use, maybe remind them that the ~35 million acres that currently grow corn for ethanol in the US could produce ~15 PWh per year of electricity from solar photovoltaics. That's ~3.5 times more than *total annual generation from all US power plants*.

Sneckdowns are a great concept that really only work system-wide and year-round if you get everybody driving as much as they do when the roads are snowy. Sorry to be an annoying contrarian downer.

Councilmember Persson: walkability and bikeability are so important. In ward 2, a lot of people like to live close to downtown and be able to walk/bike there. There's a lot of areas where there is a retaining wall on one side of the sidewalk and the street on the other, without a green strip buffer.
