Christopher Priest used this ad a premise in his awesome JUSTICE LEAGUE run a few years ago.
So an odd thing here is that if you say "an unidentified man dressed in a Batman costume" your point is to communicate "it is not really Batman" but the problem is that the real Batman, within the fiction of the comic book "Batman", is also, literally, an unidentified man dressed in a Batman costume
An unidentified man dressed in a Batman costume angrily confronted Santa Clara city officials during a joint meeting of the City Council, city authorities, and the Santa Clara Stadium Authority on Monday, using his public comment to condemn the city’s stance on cooperation with ICE.

We will be open today from 12-3pm.
We would prefer to not use our credit card processing if it's doable but we also appreciate customer business too much to refuse to use it.

I have a lot of complex thoughts about today's strike but I'll save them for face to face discussions.

It's a very different feeling. There's many of the same feelings of helplessness and fear but so so so much more anger and anxiety.
Feeling in my bones the parallels between 2020 and 2026. Mass traumatizing events that will scar us for generations. But in 2020, it was a natural event exacerbated by a pack of fascists. This time, it's an onslaught of entirely human-conceived atrocities inflicted on us by fascists.

Awesome. I feel better about stealing a poor nations natural resources knowing they will be used responsibly.

That's what really matters with plunder.
Marco Rubio: "The oil proceeds are being deposited into an account that ultimately will become a US Treasury blocked account here in the US. We will say 'this is what this money can be spent on.' They will submit to us a budget request -- 'we want to use the money on these things.'"

I was not vaccinated as a child because of a parent’s religious beliefs and I was never told. I only found out because the college I went to required proof of vaccination to live in the dorms.

If a person is medically capable of getting vaccinated, they should be. Full stop.
Treating children as property of their parents is not public health as I understand it. But is the MAHA/MAGA position, as they roll back decades of progress

Incidentally, the Franks were a German refugee family who fled to the Netherlands in 1934. The moral challenges facing their Dutch neighbors were not entirely dissimilar to those facing Americans over whether to help a newly anti-refugee govt deport Somalis or Venezuelans to unsafe countries

Whatever was in those files must be REALLY bad.

"Elevated romance" & "elevated sff" etc etc, I'm sorry but my entire life as a reader, critic & TV fan, all too often that's code for, "I don't know this genre, I've been taught to look down on it, my bosses hate it, but it sells idk?? People I guess like this stuff? So I guess we'll try it SIGH" ok

It’s the 1990s. I’m trying to explain many abuses we see at Ruby Ridge and Waco reflect entrenched practices of law enforcement.

It’s the 2000s. I’m trying to explain many abuses we see under the PATRIOT ACT reflect entrenched practices of American law enforcement.

It’s 2025. Guess the fuck what.

My 13 year old asked me for a specific thing about a historic figure who lived in the first half of the 20th century and I was like, "I can't help you, Flashman never met him."

I owe those books so much.
