27. I’ll close with this. You cannot debate professional liars like Stephen Miller. You cannot find common ground. Why? Because *they are too weak to be worthy of trust*. They can only be opposed. Trump said JB Pritzker should be jailed. In reply, Pritzker said

I love that Frazetta could do silly ass shit like this. He was a multi-faceted artist.

Yeah, I feel like it's possible but I also feel like there's a lot fear at the root.

They're afraid of being "called out" by the administration for not supporting the tariffs enough. Which is absurd; if this administration wants to be upset at you, logic has nothing to do with it.

My Canadian distributor has stopped shipping me books because UPS keeps charging them fees for brokerage even though they are non*tariffed. I spent hours on the phone with them and it was... Painful.
What a world.

Postal services in other countries have already cut off package mail to the US. Now UPS bails. All because of Trump's tariffs.

Churn that in your brain a bit. We live in a country so backward it's cut off from mail from the rest of the world.
UPS is 'disposing of' U.S.-bound packages over customs paperwork problems
Shifting Trump tariffs have created a nightmare for UPS, as thousands of packages from overseas pile up at its hubs while they await customs clearance.

I wish I had the energy to talk about all this online in one place. So much of this is so fragile right now...
Whatever, I have a livestream, I talk about it regularly. I can't chase people to listen to me.
All good news but all very... Precipitous? Is that the word I want?

Blind Bags are definitely driving sales, but readers are sticking around. Absolute line has been huge with manga-wsque storytelling and great creative. Definitely bringing new readers. Young readers to comics are being drawn by affordable, accessible content.

God if the outcome of all this is a discovery that a specific type of black mold makes you a weird bigot I'm gonna have a hearty chuckle then fill my pockets with stones and walk into a lake. We are now living in the mold age. The mildew years. The roaring fungis.

Suuuure it's the "molds" fault. Whats next, a very specific strain of mold that turns children's book authors into raging terfs?

I’ve never seen this before! An *inward-indicating* word-balloon tail (that’s the speaker’s right arm descending below the word balloon).

FASCINATING! Does this tail technique have a name? Have folks seen it used elsewhere?? I have so many questions!!! (From HIRAYASUMI, book 3, pg 37)

if you start being like "yo the world looks bleak. looks whats going on" and then the LLM is like "yeah this shit sucks there's no way it'll get better" and if you start going down that road without actually mentioning suicide or violence it will just keep agreeing with you.

I'm completely divorced from.
But almost all my hardcore, customer go.
Loads of people I rarely see swan in, for the 2 weeks or so after, just telling me about it like I need to know who they met or saw there...
I often feel very much NOT part of the "comic industry" but NYCC is next level. 🤷

Even they just felt like, like when a little kid does their own wedding because their parents are going to a real one?
Sometimes, like this year, holidays really get in there at the same time and then it's even weirder. I go from no phone to nonstop notifications when it's on, all for something
