Such peace that they only killed a couple of Palestinians in an attack yesterday! Good job, gang! Peace!
Trump to the Board of Peace: "We have peace in the Middle East. Nobody thought that was possible. We've settled 8 wars, and I believe another one is coming pretty soon. And you know what that is. The one that I thought was gonna be a easy one."

So, as of right now, we have the “framework of a deal” with NATO that gives us unlimited access to build military bases on Greenland, without asking or informing Greenland or Denmark, as well as, what, unlimited mining rights?

And Greenland says no one has bothered to ask them about it?!?!
What is in Trump’s Greenland ‘deal’ – and what is missing?
US president abruptly dropped threats against allies after talks with Rutte on the ‘framework’ of a deal that does not involve selling Greenland

I’m guessing she ends up with a full pardon and probably that contract with the military to provide her super-legit blood diagnostics….

When he gets home and Miller starts whispering in his ear about how this isn’t enough to defend the ”fatherland” from foreigners he‘ll change his tune again.
I mean, I guess maybe we should just agree to let him pretend that effectively preserving the status quo is a huge brilliant "deal."
January 22, 2026 at 12:08 AM
This is one reason why Trump’s “deals” never include specifics.

Thank goodness Trump is a completely superficial financial being who thinks the stock market is the same thing as the economy?https://cdn.bsky.app/img/feed_fullsize/plain/did:plc:jbvnehrrdqoulco4rf5gxg5r/bafkreiagd5lkq5lfdjsit2amokfc6fvh23jrwrss73rje6povhn6emuipm@jpeg

The far more parsimonious answer is, in fact, someone showed him the stock market from this morning…
TACO Trump strikes again.
January 21, 2026 at 7:50 PM
Ummm…someone’s going to need to make this “framework” public because I’m not sure NATO should get to decide for Greenland how much of it the US gets…
Trump: "Based upon a very productive meeting I had with Mark Rutte, we have formed the framework of a future deal with respect to Greenland and, in fact, the entire Arctic Region. This solution, if consummated, will be a great one... Based upon this understanding, I will not be imposing the Tariffs"

At what point, when appearing in Court making arguments that they MUST know are completely frivolous, should the various Bars start proceedings? Asking for a country I know…
When this is over, amoral anti-American law firms like Jones Day will eagerly be running Operation Paperclip for the lawless scum of the Trump DoJ like D. John Sauer, and the profession has to find a way to inflict debilitating harm on those firms and their managers or give up on the rule of law.
After Sauer says Lisa Cook "was given an opportunity" to respond to the allegations, KBJ asks whether that due process was: "She supposed to post about it, and that was the opportunity to be heard?"

Yes, Sauer replies.

A crisis for the stability of the global order. Open mob-style shakedowns of our treaty allies and threats against them.

Neither Denmark nor Greenland can allow this now; the presence of US troops on their land should be non-starters considering the US is a fundamentally unreliable negotiator at this point.

Why would you trust us to stop there?
The best case scenario is that we end up reaffirming the status quo—the US can build bases and station troops in Greenland—and Trump pretends this is some fantastic new “deal” he’s made rather than what we already had.

I’m guessing it’s so they can create some insanely narrow reasoning to reject the Admin’s argument while crafting the obvious way they CAN go about it, as they have done in the past (Trump I “Muslim Ban”)
The real question I have about the Cook case, given how today's arguments have gone, is why #SCOTUS deferred the application pending argument back in October, rather than just denying it outright.
January 21, 2026 at 5:25 PM
This right here. This was the moment. SCOTUS stole a case settled (properly!) by the Florida State Supreme Court in order to hand the presidency to Bush. This embarrassment should be on Rehnquist’s gravestone.

It could be the precedent to completely steal elections this November…
Once again, the stealing of the 2000 election by the Wizards In Robes, who decided not everyone’s vote counted, wasn’t only the point at which 🇺🇸 stopped being anything approaching a democracy, it was also a world historical critical juncture for int’l politics. A fork in The Road Forward, as it were
in another timeline we are two decades past a Gore presidency

I cannot tell you how absolutely infuriatingly this stuff comes across to Europeans.

When we say America is no longer a reliable ally, it goes considerably deeper than Donald Trump himself. This kind of complacent, condescending shit is a *huge* part of it.
Newsom: "It was remarkably boring. It was remarkably insignificant. He was never going invade Greenland. It was never real."

True. But Dictators do…
Presidents don't float policies that are opposed by the mass public 86 - 9. This is not normal.

Same is true for all cops in every city, too, you know…
They WILL NOT WIN, they CANNOT WIN, because they CANNOT AND WILL NEVER HAVE ENOUGH GUYS
The combined populations of Mpls and St. Paul is about 740,000 (thats not even counting the metro area). If just 0.8% of us show up that’s easily more than double the goons ICE has sent.

One of the upsides of a fascist takeover is it will likely end one day, and then we can restructure our government into one that works.

End the office of the President and expand the size of our legislature, get rid of the special upper chamber, ensure the independence of the Judiciary.
this from @juliaazari.bsky.social is great and has me thinking — as circumstances often do these days — about something that has been lost in the age of trump, which is the presidency as steward of the constitution.
Does the American presidency exist anymore?
Last week Donald Trump flipped off a worker at a Ford plant for yelling “pedophile protector” at him.

Todd Blanche thinks he’s getting the next seat on the Supreme Court, y’all
Can someone explain to me what Todd Blanche hopes to get out of this in the end? Like, I get that JD and Marco think they might get to be president. Miller gets to live out his psychopathic fantasy. But Blanche…? This is his peak. Is it to be AG when Trump fires Bondi? Like what is his point
BREAM: Is the FBI investigating the ICE agent who shot Renee Good?

BLANCHE: What happened has been reviewed by millions of Americans bc it was recorded. We investigate when it's appropriate. That is not the case here. We are not going to bow to pressure. So no, we are not investigating.
