If the Dems agree to a CR without also passing ACA subsidies, I am not voting for the democratic party unless Schumer is yeeted into the sun (along with whoever the other 10 or so defectors are)

Arguably, mamdani over performed other recent Dems in NYC, since he beat the Republican candidate by 43.28%. Eric Adams only beat the Republican by 39.14%, and DeBlasio by 38.58%
Btw, the press obsessing about Mamdani seems weird. He seriously underperformed the Democratic vote in NYC compared to recent elections, barely scraping 50%. Moderate Democrats in VA and NJ dramatically overperformed. That seems the real story

The issue isn't incrementalism or not, it's the lack of vision in the Dems.

I want dems to pursue single payer healthcare, mass transit, and civil rights in the same way Republicans did banning abortion.

You need a vision, you need a plan. Even if it's slow, we gotta know where we are going
KAMALA HARRIS: "It is never satisfying to say we've gotta be incremental - and I'm not advocating incrementalism - but until we win back majorities in the Senate and the House and take the White House, that may just be where we are."

Progressive except for trans people is the new progressive except for Palestine.
And of course zee/zem have/hath turned off the comments because they can’t handle reason. Bluesky really has become a daycare for the societally ill-equipped.

Centrists demand that minorities sacrifice their rights in order to win, but never offer up any of their own
Our countries problems in a nutshell:

Who passes your purity test? Why do you attack allies, instead of uniting to fight the enemy? Are you satisfied with the results from your “moral stand” so far?

Good luck ever winning anything with the coalition of 10 people that you agree with, loser

who creates the lively art and music scenes if the rent is too high? who makes cultural life? who serves you food or washes your dishes? who creates the fancy little restaurants that draw you to urban living? affordable housing is at the heart of what makes city life worthwhile.

I'm skeptical of how much the "posted dumb stuff on reddit years ago" will end up mattering to people. Who hasn't!

This post (admittedly one I'm struggling to find on twitter) is racist and I condemn it

But let's not pretend Ben Badejo isn't a piece of shit, a conservative, trump loving, anti Arab bigot who won't condemn Israeli terrorism in the west bank

I think my big issue with the California Forever plan is that its intrinsically a bit suburban in mindset. Its a top down plan of a community made to be perfect from the onset and to stay in a somewhat fixed state. to me this is at leads somewhat antithetical to what makes a good city good

I am reminded of earlier this year, a few Milwaukee craft breweries were featured in a news story on how Tariffs would hurt the beer industry, and all these smug liberal accounts came out to say "hurr durr you got what you voted for"

but like...its Milwaukee, they probably voted Harris

You don't have to judge Columbus by the standards of today. His tenure as governor of Hispaniola was so horrific that he was dragged back to Spain in chains to answer for his many crimes.

Plus he never set foot on any land that would ever be a part of the United States of America.

We have armed secret police kidnapping people off the street based on the color of their skin.

When we win: we will haul them before a Senate committee. The masks will come off. There will be consequences.

Centrist democrats would rather a Republican win than a progressive. Fundamentally I think a lot of Dems are conservatives who would prefer the working class suffer than risk losing capital

This isn't necessarily true. Mills could theoretically be more popular with traditional democratic voters but more unpopular with moderates, while platner could be the opposite. In which case he could lose the primary while being the best bet for the general

if Platner can't beat Mills he can't beat Collins

If Democrats want to win, we need to hone in on this message. Republicans want to protect the home value of aging boomers at the expense of genZ and millennials paying high rents and struggling to buy houses. They don't want seniors to downsize, they don't want local stores to thrive.
republicans are NIMBYs who want your rents to go up

this is why I have zero time for democratic NIMBYs. We need to forcefully embrace more housing to lower the rents, increase walkability, and boost economic growth
Ciattarelli: "We've got a severe overdevelopment crisis in our suburban communities because of the Democrats' idea of social engineering."
