I know I RTd this last night, but I had a closer read of it now, and yes, this is helpful, if you haven't already done these things. I had done them, but it was good to double-check, as I've heard of updates that turn these features back on.

Read the whole thread, but think about what this means about stories in periodicals and anthologies. SHE WALKS IN SHADOWS, eds. Silvia Moreno-Garcia and Paula R. Stiles, my 1st pro sale, was stolen by LibGen. The book won a World Fantasy Award. But as an anthology published in Canada, it's excluded.

As the lawsuit FAQ states, "Many works in LibGen and PiLiMi were not registered or did not have an ISBN or ASIN. Such works are not part of the Class and therefore not on the Works List." 4/

51. My work was on The Atlantic’s list of LibGen files. Why is it not on the Works List?

The Works List only includes works that meet the Class definition (as identified in FAQ 5). A work on The Atlantic’s list of LibGen files may not meet the Class definition for many reasons, including, for example:

Anthropic did not download any works from LibGen after July 2021. To compile its list, The Atlantic used metadata from LibGen as that database existed in 2025. Between July 2021 and 2025, more books were added to LibGen. Your work would not be part of the Class, and therefore not on the Works List, if it was added to LibGen after July 2021 (and also not present in the files Anthropic downloaded from PiLiMi in August 2022).

As explained above in FAQ 5, a work falls within the Class definition only if it has an ISBN or ASIN; was registered with the U.S. Copyright Office within five years of publication; and was registered before being downloaded by Anthropic, or within three months of publication. Many works in LibGen and PiLiMi were not registered or did not have an ISBN or ASIN. Such works are not part of the Class and therefore not on the Works List.

Whatever you think about iPad kids, I really don't think we're ready for Chatbot kids

Some parents are letting their kids talk to ChatGPT in the guise of characters. Some are using it to tell bedtime stories or create coloring books.

"My son thinks ChatGPT is the coolest train loving person in the world. The bar is set so high now I am never going to be able to compete with that.”
‘My son genuinely believed it was real’: Parents are letting little kids play with AI. Are they wrong?
Some believe AI can spark their child’s imagination through personalized stories and generative images. Scientists are wary of its affect on creativity

I always encourage defrauded writers to report the fraud as widely as possible (there are resources for doing so in the Legal Recourse section of the WB website)--but scammers always try to stay a step ahead (as if there weren't already enough to worry about) www.zdnet.com/article/scam...
Scammers are now faking the FBI's own website - here's how to stay safe
FBI warns its scam reporting site is being spoofed. Here's how to be sure that you're going to the real site.

Top VA officials testified that they don’t know how many doctors and nurses have left.

We do.

The VA is down 600+ doctors and 1,900+ nurses this year.

After years of growth, the number of docs has declined each month since Trump took office.

1/ I’m Till Eckert, a ProPublica reporter. For the past 2 weeks, I’ve been going to the same NY immigration courthouse.

Nearly every time, I see ICE agents arresting immigrants. Today, a woman was slammed to the ground after begging officials not to take her husband away.

1/ A longtime Wired editor just wrote a mush-brained essay about how he totally missed the political rot of Silicon Valley (& still doesn't get it).

But in the late 1990s, a Wired journalist warned of a toxic ideology bubbling up from tech. Paulina Borsook has largely been erased. Let's change that
