Times suck and the internet amplifies that. Doesn’t matter where you are, unless you’re insanely anti political. Moving here from Twitter was nice, but all it did was remove the Nazis. Not makes the times less shitty. Getting lost in DIY subreddit stuff helps me not get too sucked in again
I’m going to be taking a break from Bluesky for a while.
There’s a lot of good here but increasingly this place just makes me sad and angry and, increasingly, foul tempered and mean. It’s not good for me or anyone else.
I’ll check DMs occasionally but otherwise I’ll be away for a bit. Take care.

i worked for MTV like a decade ago and it was a running-on-fumes life support operation even then, that had basically no relationship with music or the music industry and existed to pump reality tv content out mostly targeted mostly to downmarket gen Xers, not kids

This just makes me realize I lack friends IRL. My good ones have moved. Been hard finding new ones. The parent of children my kids have befriended has resulted in some less than ideal results. (I live in the OC). Lots of local family though, but in don’t want to see their shit heh
