2 weeks ago, I spent a week at Milkwood for a residency. It was pure #kidlit #kidlitart magic.

Sophie Blackall painted this mural of the farm and property. Beautiful!

The hay loft is this big cavernous place of quiet during the day and a great place for a special dinner with friends. We had one of our guests play banjo. 🪕

A collection of antique mirrors. So many details. Everything is so considered.

A few more! Thank you very very much for sticking with me through Doggust! This is the first time I've done all 31 days. 🎉 I will continue to draw dogs in other months. Thanks again for all the kind words, and please tell your dogs hi for me.

The darker sheltie from before is pouring steamed milk into espresso to make some latte art of a dog. She has her paws on the table, brows furrowed in concentration. The background is bright yellow behind the negative space table.

The light brown sheltie is holding a dish bin. There's only one cup in it thankfully, because it is probably getting dragged on the ground and bonked into things as she goes.

A bull terrier with a light brown spot over their ears is sipping an iced sweet tea through a bendy straw. They're using a laptop on a round blue table. They are using a vpn because they know public wifi is not secure, even in dog world.

hey if you're someone interested in flatting/coloring comics, this is a great resource. very few people know how to do it correctly, and it's not difficult but it IS more technically intensive than most people assume! these are useful skills!

I've been going to coffeehouse writer meet ups at @mystgalaxybooks.bsky.social , and I always leave them so inspired and pumped to keep working :)
I really enjoy the opportunity to sit IRL with people who are industry veterans and newbies, and have an open dialogue with them. It's very inspiring!
