Here's a short eared owl for today's #birbfest. Tried to save some time by not going realistic today but then got into a won't stop, can't stop fugue state with the patterning... oh, well 😂

They are one of the tiny little birds that stay with us year round. In the winter they are especially busy, constantly foraging and talking.
This red-breasted nuthatch has just plucked a small nut from a spruce cone and will either eat or stash it for later.
