Federal mortgage-fraud prosecutions are exceptionally rare. The amount allegedly at issue in the Letitia James case is so paltry that it would not normally draw the attention of federal prosecutors, @ruthmarcus.bsky.social writes.

South Carolina has weak gun laws - and allows concealed carry in bars. All the prayers that Nancy Mace sends won’t do a thing to prevent these from occurring unless they change their laws.

2/ Police apologists will argue self-defense, but the officer was only in danger because he placed himself in danger. He could have kept driving, or stayed in his vehicle. A brick and shovel are only a threat at close range. The police bullets were more likely to kill bystanders or kids in school.
