So the emerging picture seems to be: Trump Admin imagines it struck a deal with elements of Maduro's regime to hand him over and stay in power, in exchange (presumably) for inviting US oil companies back and stopping oil supplies to Cuba ....

Liberal friends, the reactions from you (and frankly many of the swirl of things in my mind and heart) are quite different from those of my many Venezuelan friends. I feel like we should make some space to listen to those most affected. Not that we throw away our serious concerns. Just more humility

The House Armed Services Committee also was not briefed, I've confirmed.
News: Gang of Eight in Congress were only notified about Trump's Venezuela operation after it began, source familiar tells me. That means the heads of the Intelligence Committees in Senate and House were *not* consulted. Just crazy.

I’m concerned. In the last 24 hours Zohran Mamdani has now twice sworn oaths to uphold the U.S. constitution, the NY state constitution, and the NYC charter.
And not once did he say he’s going to enforce Sharia Law.
