i'd add to this that at one point, cfc's were everywhere and in millions of major appliances around the world when we decided they were destroying the planet. nothing industry creates is "inevitable" or "here to stay" no matter how ubiquitous
just a collection of "inevitable" multi-billion dollar tech that was going to be the future of everything until everyone in the audience who was supposed to just get on board said "lol no"

idk why would u use an unethical algo (which also burns our planet down) and rely on its biased (and thus limited) outcome...

One of my webhosts is advertising an ai website naming service and its literally the GoDaddy domain list they've had since like '04 they just slapped "ai" on it for no fucking reason
I've mentioned this a couple times now, but I got an email advertising "AI voice software" and I checked why I was getting an email like that and found out it was a TTS program rebranded as AI because it's a buzzword that gets investors hard
I have absolutely zero sympathy for studios intentionally conflating useful tools with LLMs in order to launder the image of LLMs then being surprised those legitimate automation tools are now a PR liability. If you are calling inverse kinematics AI you can't be surprised when people get mad at that
