None of those things happened despite the hype and money around them. The effort to say more people use AI than Wikipedia is part of a larger effort to destroy Wikipedia so it’s easier to control information its antagonists (Musk, Thiel etc) don’t like.

I don’t buy for a minute that ChatGPT has more users than Wikipedia.

AI is in the middle of a massive tech bubble. So any numbers promoting it should be viewed with the same lens as when Facebook tried to pivot everyone to video. Or when the crypto/nft hype. Or VR becoming commonplace.

It does this thing I refer to in my head as “proximity filmmaking” (I’m sure someone’s given it a proper name) where the camera stays as close as it can to the protagonist as much as possible as everything goes down, which makes the audience feel more vulnerable when the danger nears.

Just thinking of the time my cousins town of Klamath Falls, their MAGA contingent thought antifa were busing in to destroy the town on a particular night so they arranged a mob to meet the “antifa” and when none came, they decided it’s because they had scared them off…

I found a Netflix series directed Hirokazu Kore’eda that for some reason was given next to no press.

A soap called “Asura”

It’s a real testament to the notion that great direction elevates everything.

You simply don’t get tv directors like this. It’s utterly gorgeous and amazingly shot.
