One of the big reasons the Germans lost the Second World War is that they were the poster child of how NOT to do Human Resources as a nation. Even without the Holocaust, they squandered so much of themselves by overmobilizing and allocating too many good people to bad jobs.

Sharing because this story has bearing on the ongoing theme of gatekeeping and bad conduct among Japanese fandom. In general, it looks like the pro-Imamori camp outnumbers the naysayers/harassers, and she'll find a way to go forward in her career.

I was in WalMart and in Electronics I stepped by the demo display for the Ring doorbell camera...
And in my head, I was hearing Wil Wheaton as Wesley Crusher saying words to the effect of "you might seem scary to Earthlings, but among your own species you're probably considered quite handsome."
