Day 1 EO that mandating agencies remove Trump's name from everything is sort of table stakes right? Good photo op of Hunter Biden ripping off some of those gold appliques. Hell, sell it as a patriotic experience to donors
seriously: Day One in front of the facade with a crowbar

I guess this is true in every direction now though -- a dem admin is just going to be a slaughterhouse of retribution (pick a number) and if it's not it's dead in its crib like the Biden admin

Doesn't this corrupt manner of Ellison/Paramount winning WB make regulatory hassle/investigation from a potential Dem admin inevitable? Like, now that there are no rules for how agencies behave aren't they just going to be gummed up and bled dry by FTC, FCC, IRS, ... everyone on tacit assumption?

The headline here to me is that the IN Rs didn't want to do this and then Donald Trump had people threaten to bomb their houses and then they did it. I don't know what you do with Rs until they fear the rest of us as much as they fear Trump.
While the new map had widespread support among Republicans in the state House — it passed by a 57-41 vote — the ultimate fate of the map remains unclear. The state Senate convenes on Monday, December 8 to make a decision on the matter. talkingpointsmemo.com/news/indiana...

this is probably just hopium but it does seem like a good time to be calibrating messages for the armed forces (it helps when your political opponents are insane coked out war criminals)
Kelly: He runs around on stage talking about lethality and the warrior ethos.. That’s not the message that should be coming from the Secretary of Defense… He runs around on a stage like he’s a 12 year old playing army. It’s embarrassing.

I regret to inform you there is more Olivia Newzzi: the print VF will feature a nude portrait by artist Isabelle Brourman that is also destined for Art Basel Miami Beach. Notably, its inclusion appears be a surprise to VF staff. VF looking worse and worse here. www.artnews.com/art-news/new...

y'all remember when Charlie Sheen went a little crazy for half a year or whatever and made It All about himself?
What a weird thing to express traditional conservatism about. A huge part of the maga coalition are heavily tattooed and bearded oafs (torn jeans/t-shirt/sneakers?) and plastic trad wives in yoga pants. Weirdo fascists want to establish a dress code start at home!
Sean Duffy: "Dressing with respect -- whether it's a pair of jeans and a decent shirt, I would encourage people to maybe dress a little better which encourages us to maybe behave a little better. Let's try not to wear slippers and pajamas as we come to the airport."

Like a version of Betteridge's law of headlines, but where if I read a post that I think could be easily googled and wonder if it's bait, then it's probably bait

This story is really weird and thin. This sounds like a couple exasperated guys making obscene jokes in a restaurant. Who legitimately conspires over some soup?
speaking as a virginia beach native if these kind of dudes are plotting against ICE then there is wide runway in public opinion for straight up abolishing the agency under a dem presidency

I think this is true, but it's really the same picture -- he just is charming and telegenic and it works on libs and it works on Trump. And Schumer isn't charming and telegenic so ... it doesn't work (+ Mamdani's role isn't to save the republic from tyranny)
a significant reason Mamdani can get away with this and other Dems can’t is less that he’s charmed Trump and more that he’s charmed you, dear reader, which is why you’re not yelling at him for being a collaborator or an appeaser right now

If Trump I was the feel-good economy where the economy was pretty good but for some reason felt better (low rates/inflation, good jobs) then Trump II is kinda the feel-bad economy where it feels worse than it maybe is so far (rates/jobs meh, infl+, AI propping up econ but might take your job?)

Isn't the arg ppl are making against thy NYT something like "editorially they've been in the tank for Trump from the beginning and it's warped their coverage in a way that's severely undermined trust in them among their left-leaning audience?" NYTers point to specifics w/o engaging the general
