My son says I can never stop posting.
When I became an actor, people would tell me "Oh you're so brave, I could never handle the instability." These people were in denial of their own job's "stability."

Now I do a lot less work for a lot more money. 🤷‍♀️

Reporting this story in Cameroon, I met people who were blind because larval worms died in their eyeballs: NTDs cause immense suffering and disability.
But they're preventable! And treatable! And eliminatable!
U.S. tax dollars backed the effort to wipe out neglected tropical diseases for 20 yrs. Many countries eliminated 1 disease, and were tantalizingly close on others. Then the U.S. walked away – jeopardizing all that investment, with diseases poised to come roaring back www.nytimes.com/2026/02/03/h...

Put more motions for trolling Republicans on the ballot, get those conservative tears.
BREAKING: The Supreme Court will not stop the use of California's new congressional maps in this year's midterm elections.

The court rejected California Republicans' effort to stop the use of the new maps. There were no noted dissents and no opinion.

Please let this kill Instagram finally. We need to move on. Desperately overdue.
I just got this notification from this trial Meta is conducting. For art to be seen, fees are required. No more likes because your work is interesting to ppl, it is all just paid access to huge audiences. And these are just starting fees, they go up after a month. 👎😬😭

"rich dipshit owner doesn't understand the industry he's bought into and clumsily destroys what made it good" feels less like a narrative unique to the washington post and more like the music that's been playing in the background of all our lives for at least 40 years

Just funny because ICE is kidnapping people all over, you're just not seeing mass dramatic videos of it. If you're a person of color especially, you should not risk visiting the US. Not sure how they're missing that detail.

This is the pattern. Purchase/Take Over a media source that has informed the public. Then dismantle them to the lowest form:
1. Twitter
2. Meta
3. Washington Post
4. CBS-60 Minutes/News
5. Public Broadcasting
6. Tik Tok

We are up to our necks in state run media.

Sort of tangential (though not in my brain), but I think we are currently working off a surfeit of knowledge produced through a lot of mechanisms that have now been dismantled, and only a decade or two from now are we going to realize how there are many things we used to know about and don't anymore

I am watching Gilmore Girls for the first time right now (I hate it but sometimes I watch old shows just to understand cultural references) and that "well-bred" heiress Rory goes to Yale with high aspirations of becoming a journalist because it will guarantee prestige and MONEY makes me laugh.
As an old I am required to inform everyone there was a time when there were a lot of journalists working full time and it was considered a pretty good and stable career

worth noting that the second rich people stopped being afraid of mobs tearing them limb from limb, they stopped building libraries and opera houses and stuff and started ripping the copper wiring out of the walls of society instead

As I report in this piece, a trend is developing: Some warehouse owners have decided against selling to ICE, plainly because the backlash has persuaded them that it would make them pariahs

I don't want to make peace with these cunts.
Kindergarten teacher called a prank ICE hotline thinking it was real. She called to report her 6 year old student to ICE to try to get them and their family deported.

6 years old.

She does not enjoy hearing her own words and actions played back to her.
