And I refused to recite the Pledge starting in the 3rd grade. And I never did again.

Patriotism is a vice, not a virtue. It's mass mentality and chauvinism/bigotry on a national scale.

I'm a citizen of the world; nation-states are so 1800's.

Unfortunately, what the evidence does strongly support is that Americans are just too lazy to care to really fight for their liberty.

A society that cares about rights/freedoms would never come to this horrifyingly low point, so it is most likely over.
