In 2001, a quantum computer managed to factor the number 15 (which is roughly equivalent to breaking a very simple 8-bit encryption key). It’s now 2025, and quantum computers still haven’t factored the number 21 (which would correspond to a 9-bit key). algassert.com/post/2500
