if there's a reason to keep up the "tribunals for all involved" discourse one such reason it is to put in stark relief how far away some of the Dem politicking is from the mood on the ground
eric swalwell said on msnow that a major goal of a dem majority after the midterms would be for ice masks to come off and badges to come out, this is insufficient

That’s the most Chris Achilleos that ship has ever looked to me!
Ron Cobb said that the special effects department got sick of waiting for a decision on the Nostromo and they just went in to the studio and grabbed drawings. The picture they used had the ship coloured yellow, so that's what they did.

It was resprayed but it would have been interesting.

DC has a couple of those too, and I wish either they or 2000AD would reprint METALZOIC.

Being $5 more seems like a huge mistake on Marvel's part. And yeah, some wonky initial choices.

The TPB format (especially this new small form factor) has always been built for DC over Marvel. Most of DC's iconic stories are completely stand alone, often set in alternate universes devoid of any continuity issues.

Marvels are almost all in continuity storylines, with no real conclusion.
Now Marvel has gotten in on it, slightly bigger, $5 more expensive... and even fewer that interest me.

Ohhhhhh I forgot that was in the format now

I am really becoming enamored with the DC Compact format -- smaller editions of complete stories, $10 a pop. As you can see, I've bought 4 of them so far, 2 Alan Moores, 2 Morrison/Quitelys. If there's any criticism, it's they don't have enough I'm interested in.

Wonderful performance by Eze, first NLD hat trick by either side since 1978. Richarlison should have been red carded three times.

(And Matt Smith's 1st season is still really good, before it descended into Moffat trying to be super deep and mysterrrrrious, and the most overblown companion of all time. And then Chibnall's incoherent nonsense and dodgy politics.)

I couldn't care less about that spinoff (in fairness, I've not cared about ANY spinoff really. Sarah Jane Adventures was the only one vaguely competent. "Children Of Earth" the only good TORCHWOOD.) but yeah I do go back and watch the old series still. And RTD's first era, too!
November 23, 2025 at 3:36 PM
Yeah I hate to say this out loud but RTD2 just plain did not do it for me. Never even finished the current season (a trend started with Chibnall's second) and knowing what I know both in the story and BTS, I probably won't.

It's Doctor Who's 62nd anniversary, and despite doing a special set for it on the air Thursday, I'm not even sure I *like* Doctor Who anymore (in its current form).
