Science peeps: they didn’t really “de-extinct” the dire wolf, did they? Didn’t they just take some of its DNA & CRISPR it with a modern-day wolf to make a bigger wolf with white fur? I mean that’s cool but is using gene editing to select for new phenotypes in existing species really de-extinction?

my pen finally died. i used every molecule of ink inside it and it has gone silent. i never lost it or misplaced it once. it was a good pen that rode around inside my shirt pocket or behind my ear or inside of my mouth. a constant companion. i am going to bury my pen in my neighbors garden tonight
