The brutal reality of me realising that I had to navigate 4 different layoffs, upskill constantly and even rebranded my LinkedIn to get the best opportunities at hand
But there's guys who have Amazon and NVIDIA in their CV who just get flooded with opportunities
The game isn't fair

For a time - i nuked my digital footprint and started from scratch
1) Used Pimeyes.com to reverse search pictures of myself on the Internet - deleted them
2) Found businesses that used my pics - GDPR requests to delete them

Integrated Google Analytics on my personal website
Seems like a lot of traffic is coming from the US - which is interesting
I believe it's cos of my brief presence on Bluesky
Lets see what I can do from here!

I need to network more in tech, create a brand of some sort
Luckily for me - not many UK Tech professionals in Bluesky
Thinking of curating a presence on Instagram too, hopefully it'll all cross pollinate some day

Unsure if it is, Rust is cool, but too complex IMO
Golang seems to have better market fit and seems easier to use on the low level

Illinois just banned licensed therapists from using AI for treatment or client communication, allowing only admin tasks.
Joining Utah and Nevada, it highlights how Congress’s inaction leaves us with a messy patchwork of state AI rules.

AWS has deep pockets in Washington and High Finance in New York
Plus Washington needs Big Tech to compete against Chinese tech
You'd have to fundamentally change the dynamics of the revolving door between Washington and the Private Sector

Multi-cloud RAG platform design:

📡 Kafka streams
🤖 HyperStack A100s + Pinecone
Why skip AWS? Bills creep up, cost optimization kills velocity, good engineers adapt to any stack.
Savings: 50-70% vs AWS

I still have no idea what Kubernetes is used for and I'm 5 years into tech

Double it, rewrite everything it in Rust and pass it to the next guy
Enterprise applications shouldn't be written in JavaScript or TypeScript because they're so massive they should use something closer to machine code simply because of their Scale.

This works until you gotta face security issues in production
Then context switching is again important!
Then context switching is again important!
For ages, the popular software engineering mantra was "Context switching is expensive, so minimize things that break my flow state and focus on one thing at a time"
LLM assistants seem to have reversed that almost entirely. "Look how much more I can multi-task now that I only have to review code!"

The bubble is that a massive rush to invest in AI by huge companies is overvaluing their stocks likely to the expected return. OpenAI had ~$12 billion in revenue this year, they're forecasting that will be more than $100 billion by 2029. This is uh .... very optimistic.
"AI" is not a bubble (though maybe people are systematically incorrect about the likely effects of AI).
People are not purchasing AI with the goal of selling AI later at a higher price.

So far i've created a lead funnel from my CV
CV -> Link to my LinkedIn -> Link to my Personal Website -> Link to my GitHub -> Links to my Articles
I've managed to integrate Google Analytics on my website, for some reason, a lot of traffic seems to be coming from America
hmmmmm quite interesting

I remember when the focus of machine learning and robotics was to reduce the computational load to a minimum.
It was more interesting than this LLM slop.

The platform isn't "growing" because trolls got tired of being ignored by most people and automatically blocked by moderation lists, so they went back to the racist cesspool since they couldn't wreck shit.
1.6 million new *normal users a month* is great. No inflated numbers. Get ratioed, dork.

The only way to make money. Traditional routes like a career, or even a job, have been shut off by the job market and lack of openings.
It's not really a choice they have.

Kids today are learning that the fastest and easiest way to make money—the key value that has been modeled to them in America society—is to scam others, cheat your way through, and attract negative attention online that can be monetized. My endless sympathy to parents
