I really do believe in God and that God has a purpose for the American story. I still have hope for the city on a hill, that somehow reconciliation and brotherhood will someday emerge from the original sin of racial enslavement. That we will be a righteous people and live in harmony.
Whoever said it first was right that shows for “conservative” audiences are simply devoid of nuance. 100% plot-driven, little character development, or none interesting, characters being exactly what you think. No mystery, puzzlement, wonder etc. Holds true for Landman, which I started. Enjoyable.

i kind of hate how much these guys can’t be bothered to dress themselves well or even visibly take care of themselves

Reconstruction 2 is going to require a level of seizing assets that I am very comfortable with but you may still need to work through

Rotten party all the way to the core. Irredeemable. Abolish it completely in reconstruction ii

A lot of comments under this are saying things like "It's not OUR jobs to stop this, it's the job of Congress to stop it!" and like...NO. It IS our jobs as citizens to stop this; Congress is not some customer support line for us to lodge complaints with. We must be active in our civic virtue. TLDR:

I have procured an audiobook about genetic history for $2, published in 2006. Hoping I don’t misinform myself.

British politics saddens me. I’m not sophisticated as to the inner workings of the causes of its troubles but I wish to see the people thrive. In America 99.99% of everything bad is literally just republicans’ fault

Realistic for whom? Rancid black hearted execs for whom work is a power trip, and so ceaseless for want of all other fulfillment?

Realistic for what? Doing your pointless half-wit schemes?

No, noo…. Y’all go ‘head, serve pride and mammon to the grave.

The rest of us are called to higher things.

I’ve got time so I’ll go for it.

1. Celebrate the Pilgrim-Wampanoag story if you want. What’s the phrase mainliners love? ‘Inbreaking of the kingdom’? THIS WAS THAT

2. Colonial conflict was two-sided. For sackcloth/ashes you need look to 19th c: false treaties, fed removal, scientific racism &c.

Happy thanksgiving! In Mexico rn so here’s last year pics.

This day reflects both the general idea of harvest thankfulness unto God, AND!, the Puritan half of our nat’l founding.

THEREFORE, w no gringos here to stop me, tonight I will read excerpts of City on a Hill to my Mexican fam at dinner.
Happy Thanksgiving from Virginia! 🍂🦪🦀🍁

An important thing to know about me is I tripped and fell right on my face in the Sistine chapel

Now WAIT a minute.

Annual harvest time thanksgiving was a well established tradition in Yankee New England expressly traced to English Puritan ancestors.

Sarah Hale persuaded Lincoln to nationalize it. Obviously he didn’t emphasize its sectional origin. But with time, its mythos spread nationwide.
My annual reminder that the point of Thanksgiving is not to celebrate the pilgrims or any of that crap; Lincoln never mentioned them once in his proclamation. Thanksgiving is about being grateful for Union victories.

(Well, in Chicago, it was mostly about getting sloshed as of 1870).

Don’t! use. the machines!
I think it’s pretty clear at this point that one of the main impacts of LLMs is to disrupt thinking: to make it so that far too many people never properly learn how to do it, and then to control the output so there are thoughts that people never learn how to think.

I mean even if I were to revisit this it sure as hell wouldn’t be for this guy. Has he by any authority been anointed? No. He is from Queens.
For over 300 years now, it is a bedrock principle in Anglo-American constitutionalism that obedience is owed according only to law. Refusal to follow an illegal command is not only a moral choice but an absolute duty.

Perhaps he won’t, but in the absence of a democratic president, Jeffries and Schumer are the face of the party, and the press is salivating over any kind of Mamdani conflict narrative they can get their hands on. As they were when AOC was elected, too. And she too made nice with Pelosi immediately.
I get avoiding a fight when it's crucial to show you can govern. I get going to the fascist if you're honest about it. I'm not sure I get having any faith Hakeem Jeffries will reciprocate your support.
