I really do believe in God and that God has a purpose for the American story. I still have hope for the city on a hill, that somehow reconciliation and brotherhood will someday emerge from the original sin of racial enslavement. That we will be a righteous people and live in harmony.
My take is she was a one out a million not super bright persons who got carried away online and then, randomly, was elected. Her story reflects less about herself and everything that’s rotten about the stinking accursed Republican Party
mtg spent like ten years making enemies on the left and that seemed fine with her. she spent ten days making enemies on the right, had to hire security, and then had to quit altogether.

And so who will tell you how to make a people out of America, in all its diversity, but we who made a people of the most traumatized exiles of half a continent?

There are gods who came with us across the water in whose force we operate as the best of ourselves—and there were gods born on the boat—and there were gods born right here. The African American reconstruction of English, a principle as powerful as English itself, belongs to the final category.

If Black vernacular were not so powerful you would not see so many non-Black people adopting it for nearly all social and emotional purposes.

As far as ~shewing forth~ God’s glory/majesty goes (it goes far) classical* Episcopalianism is imo the superlative Protestant tradition.

Theological basis is Reformed but iconoclastic impulse stunts execution elsewhere.

*We’ve grown intemperate in our egalitarianism. See eg push to discard “Lord”

Trans people rock. I love them.
Living your life as your true, authentic self shouldn’t put a target on your back. But that’s not the case for too many transgender Americans, and it must stop. I stand with the trans community as we remember the lives taken in hateful acts of violence.

I have been listening to PODCASTS
Might be off base here but it seems to me we’ve made huge advances in ancient near eastern and Hebraic studies in the last century that should prompt Christians to revive a focus on the Old Testament.

We’ve got a very great deal to discover and recover in there about God and Creation.

Not uncomfortable saying as a seventh gen Floridian this place was cursed from the start.

US acquired the territory and removed the Seminoles mainly bc marronage threatened slavery.

Prior to that an entirely different set of peoples living under Spain were exterminated by the Carolina slave trade.
florida politics and its consequences has been a fucking disaster for the human race

Amazing
Looks like LLMs are *very* vulnerable to attack via poetic allusion: "curated poetic prompts yielded high attack-success rates (ASR), with some providers exceeding 90% ..."

His mischief shall return upon his own head, and his violent dealing shall come down upon his own pate.
The President of the United States just called for Democratic members of Congress to be executed. "HANG THEM", he posted.

If you're a person of influence in this country and you haven't picked a side, maybe now would be the time to pick a fucking side.

Oh, look, AI is empowering cheats in authoritarian societies to undermine professional science in the free world. Cool! Awesome.
This is quite disturbing- I know LLMs are a problem but the extent they discovered is really concerning for science

We now have judges who write and issue opinions that say “Democrat Party”
It’s cool how we now have judges openly engaging in what only a few years ago would have been unhinged fascist conspiracy theorizing from the bench in official dissents.

Americans need to realize this isn’t ending with an election
In an unhinged dissent in our Texas redistricting victory, a GOP appointed judge seems to believe that George Soros and I did...well, I'm not sure what...but he is very mad. Bigly.

Comey. You f*cking dumb f*ck. Don’t be happy because you did this to yourself.
LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL

Oh my GOD. Holy shit. Holy shit holy shit holy shit.

To non-lawyers: this level of incompetence is BREATHTAKING. It is absolutely incomprehensible. This is a "mistake" that will be taught in criminal procedure classes for GENERATIONS.
NEWS: During a hearing in federal court in VA, prosecutors confirmed that the operative indictment in the case against James Comey was never shown to or voted on by the entire grand jury before it was presented in open court.

Defense counsel argued that’s a complete bar to further prosecution

Seems for a lot of folks “liberalism” just and only means “disappointing contemptible status quo-ism” of the day, rather unaware of the actual system of philosophy itself
Saw someone repost this but, folks, this is literally the liberal position. It doesn't get more liberal.

Deliberation is a structural requirement you can’t build into the structure. It requires virtue, training and discipline.
The actual controversial “most woke opinion” is that liberalism is good, tolerance and pluralism are really important values we should protect in law, protecting these values requires sincere deliberation from our leaders, our citizenry, and our judiciary about sometimes-contradictory values
"my least woke opinion is---"

That's enough. We've had enough people indulging in the "thrill of a little conservatism", as a treat. Of considering reactionary thought to be a salacious and taboo in a world descending into reactionary mania.

Give me your MOST woke opinions. We're bringing it back.
