As always thank you Senator Merkley for standby by the people
The vote to reopen the government with no deal on health care is a brutal blow to all those who have stood together to save affordable health care for more than 20 million Americans.

I will vote β€˜NO’ with every fiber of my being.

...now everyone can understand my frustration with: 'HuMAns cOuldN'T BuILd tHe PyRAmidS. It MuSt hAVe beEn AliEns.'
I spotted this on Mastodon and I find it horrible, not least for the speed with which this has happened.

This is blatantly calculated and Dem senators need to force Schumer out of the leader position THIS WEEK.

So I guess I have to make more fucking phone calls.

Sanders: That is a totally meaningless gesture. You can get 100 votes here and it won't mean anything because the House is not going to take it up.

My family has been without half our income for 40 days. It has been.. very hard.

We are willing to feel that pain so people can have health care next year, or to undo these illegal recissions.

We are not willing to have been put through this for NOTHING.

So… 8 Democrats have agreed to vote for ending the shutdown. WITHOUT A GUARANTEE ON HEALTHCARE ASSISTANCE. Which was the whole fucking point. These 8 say they believe the GOP will negotiate on this on a later date. So all this happened for absolutely nothing. Fucking pathetic fools.

The average SNAP benefit per month is $177 a person.

The average ACA benefit per month is up to $550 a person.

People want us to hold the line for a reason. This is not a matter of appealing to a base. It’s about people’s lives.

And working people want leaders whose word means something to them.

God damnit - can’t they just hold the line just once -no one thus asinine compromise that gets exactly nothing but a freaking obviously empty promise

Check this out! Even as Trump seeks to starve our most vulnerable citizens, including millions of children, he is giving billions more to the rich and powerful by gutting the corporate minimum tax. Once more, families lose, billionaires win.
