(She/her)
A queer polyamorous board game designer and mother of gremlins.
Been finally getting back to rock climbing, a love I had to abandon while I lacked funds and a vehicle to support it (and then the pandemic and then the children...oy.)

It feels downright revolutionary to rediscover this. May all of you uncover lost loves and passions this year.

Hey social media, give me non-monogamous fantasy book recommendations. Not hard sci-fi, not love triangles, not something that is gonna make me depressed or have nightmares, just a frikken fiction where characters get to have relationships with more than ONE OTHER PERSON.

I think a lot about invisible labor and how marginalized communities end up fighting doubly hard against the trend to enjoy the product and overlook the creator behind it.

Important natural entities deserve personhood and therefore legal rights. The Mississipi River should be able to sue corporate polluters and developers on the floodplains.
Do you have any extremely niche, but serious, ethical stances?

Holy shit what a good talk. You know I love games and philosophy, and "are Buddhist monks actually psychopaths" is exactly the kind of unhinged bullshit I miss from college discussions.

Something I believe really strongly is no one can outlaw or mandate internal experiences. Not only is it futile to try, it is also morally wrong.

I still remember the exact meeting I scrambled to in a busy common area when I looked up and quietly realized with my colleagues that we had NO MEN around the table. No men were on the game in any role. It wasn't intentional. It has never happened since.
Update to this chart that I share a lot. Not breaking news: Game design teams are still OVERWHELMINGLY all men. About 7% of the top 500 games have a woman or non-binary person credited as a designer. A 🧵of related charts: (1/6)

Aaaaaaaand it's on the syllabus. I'm still a bit hung up on calling data programmed into an NES cartridge a "material limit" - I think I agree with Jay's point about it, but I do wonder whether there's more to be pulled out of that code being the manifestation of culturally-embedded human decisions.
i wrote an article about that stupid little question i asked a couple weeks ago, why i asked it, and how the answer to the question can be tremendously beneficial for ttrpg designers

Me to me: Wow, I am getting so little done each day. Where do other people get all their productivity?

Hm, well, let's think. Is everyone else doing two loads of laundry and three loads of dishes every day? Is everyone else up at 5 with two toddlers?

🤔

Thinking a lot about digital financial transactions, representational currency, and the velocity of money. My hot take (that I'm still in the rabbit hole of fully thinking through) is that velocity of money isn't an argument in favor of cash, but an argument against corporate banking.
