whoever figures out a way to bundle independent journalism subscriptions will be a hero
i know that this is an unpopular take, but everyone starting their own newsletter as a revenue stream is not a sustainable model for writing and reporting or for people who love and want to pay for media.

Oh no way. Is this a real-life version of Review's "Racism - half a star" bit?

Alec is amazing. The first hour of this is a great explainer about renewable energy. The last half hour is vital to our democracy. That sounds like a very weird combo (and it kind of is), but it's absolutely needed in the current time.

Well done, Alec.

Keeping a running list of baseball players who are speaking out (via social media or comments to reporters) against the ICE occupation of Minneapolis or related topics. So far we've got Bailey Ober (Twins pitcher) and Spencer Strider (Braves pitcher). Any others?

While I've been largely disappointed with the response from my elected officials over the past year, there has been one bright spot - OR AG Rayfield.

Hey @salinas.house.gov ! How about now? Now will you sign on to impeach Noem and work to abolish ICE?
ICE secretly told its officers that any time someone has been ordered removed, ICE can break down their door.

It has been accepted for generations that the only thing which can authorize agents to break into your home is a warrant signed by a judge. No wonder ICE hid this memo!

@salinas.house.gov given your recent speech on the house floor about ICE's illegal actions, will you sign on to this bill?
I am introducing the Melt ICE Act to end funding for immigrant detention and monitoring.

We have seen the danger in infusing resources into DHS’s abuses of power. Funding for ICE is fuel for human suffering.

It’s time to start melting ICE.

@salinas.house.gov I don't see your name Rep. Kelly's call for impeachment of Secretary Noem

Will you cosponsor this? You called out the administration for not allowing you to visit an ICE facility just last week. Why is your name not already on this?

"Trump needs to get back to the real work of solving the affordability crisis."
Good God. We are so far past that point. He's got his goons sieging Minneapolis, he's still protecting pedophiles, and he said he doesn't see why we should have elections. Impeach. Lead or get out of the way.
The Trump Administration is sending ICE to terrorize our communities, barring Members of Congress from conducting ICE oversight, all while avoiding the affordability crisis they created.

Just a reminder - Trump went marble shopping today before returning to Mar-a-largo. He couldn't even be bothered to return to the White House to launch this illegal and immoral war.

Jingle All the Way includes a scene where Phil Hartman's character sexually assaults a woman. So that's on brand.
My first thought when I see Donald Trump running away from a crowd while holding something of value?

Definitely the idea that he’s selflessly delivering it to someone else.

25th Amendment. Now.
Trump: "Venezuela is completely surrounded by the largest Armada ever assembled ... It will only get bigger, and the shock to them will be like nothing they have ever seen before — Until such time as they return to the USA all of the Oil, Land, and other Assets that they previously stole from us."

The cover is so perfect. The bastardization of a classic image which showed the power of American workers. The fact that the "architects of AI" won even though the original image absolutely did not show any architects. And the genuinely terrible Photoshop of the image. Simply stunning.

Absolutely correct. I end up watching The Bob Emergency at least once a quarter. Fool Time is absolutely incredible. So excited for everyone else to see it
This is a top 3 Jon Bois Production for me, my order is

1) History of The Minnesota Vikings
2) Fool Time
3) The Bob Emergency

and honestly I'd be willing to bump it up to 1 if we consider that I'm pretty sure you can fit 2 whole Fool Times in 1 History of the Vikings

Ah yes, the 70s. The decade car guys absolutely love. With classic cars like the Ford Mustang II and the Pinto. Can't wait to get my hands on a brand new AMC Gremlin. Bring em back, baby!
Sean Duffy on slashing fuel economy standards: "This rule will actually allow you to bring back the 1970s station wagon. Maybe a little wood paneling on the side. We can bring back choice to consumers."

As both an Eagle Scout and Scout Leader, I can say for certain that Hegseth has no idea what he is talking about. Scouting America is a leadership program. Scouts go on to be business, civic, and MILITARY leaders. Hegseth's harming future recruiting and pissing off many CURRENT military leaders.

If you like the idea of Democrats going all-in with a genuinely progressive economic message, that's great. You should support people who run on that. But if you support James Carville's take on it which, in his mind, requires sacrificing marginalized people to do it, you can fuck the fuck off.
