Riddle me this:

If Trump's military hasn't issued any illegal orders, why has Pete Hegseth been unable to come up with *any* legal justification for killing those fishermen in boats in the Caribbean?🤔

How are those "shared values" going @albomp.bsky.social ? #auspol

When Kash Patel was appointed, it freaked me out as much as any appointment. It was clear his goal was to persecute Trump's political opponents by any means necessary.

But, seeing what a total nincompoop he is, I will almost miss him. He's become my favorite incompetent in the whole regime.

The more I think about this, the more it really, really, REALLY bothers me

We've reached a point where a text-based reference fabrication engine - comfortably the most effective machine liar we've ever invented - is being pushed by an ultra-polluting tech company and accepted by climate scientists
Deeply absurd. This Google PDF published on a blog (arxiv, not peer reviewed) claims an LLM is "PhD level" but in most cases the MAJORITY of reference URLs were invalid or inaccessible.

A PhD sitting down and just fabricating >50% of sources = career ending

It shows Nauru plans to send refugees to places they fled. No wonder the secrecy.

One thing that strikes you from this is that, though it's widely claimed Labor had a historically huge election win in May (it did, on seats), that's invisible in primary support. In late 2024 it even looked possible it could lose.

Albanese is flattered by our electoral system.
Even longer view, with *election results* long-term trend lines.

Trend LNP polled support is now the lowest on record. It's also well below the long election results downtrend, but not yet remarkably so.

One Nation polled support is well above trend, and headed higher.
