Highlighting the speaker who stood in front of the Surprise mayor and told him to consider what the Mayor of Ohrdruf must’ve thought before he died by suicide: “He might have thought ‘how is this my fault I had no jurisdiction over this’ maybe he said ‘this site was not subject to local zoning.’”

8. I would be remiss if I did not mention that the Epstein files shows the extent to which old political alliances are compromised. It’s depraved. It is also unfortunately capitalism. Tech elite has the money to shape public opinion and intervene in state law because of that cabal of exploitation.

So the question here is mis-specified. There is no "alternative" research funding in any way that would make American biomedical research whole for researchers to seek out. 1/ www.statnews.com/2026/02/03/p... via @statnews.com

this particular line is maybe the best statement of purpose i have seen for those of us who want a more militant opposition to this administration
“Let us be clear: we want the power of the state. We wish to hold the criminals of the regime accountable. We wish to seize back the public funds looted by Trump and his cronies. We wish to undo the damage he has done to the government. More than any of that we wish to rebuild.”
From Powerlessness to Power
We will not achieve any of our ultimate goals without exercising state power, and the most effective way to take state power is through nonviolent but confrontational resistance.

No we don't. I am a Democrat. I am a registered member of the Democratic Party in a 9:1 Democratic city in a 2:1 Democratic state. I want ICE abolished and all of its employees charged with the heinous crimes they have committed.
Democrats want commonsense reform for ICE:

End the roving patrols and racial profiling.

Take accountability and abide by the same rules as local police.

Masks need to come off, body cameras need to stay on—no secret police in the United States of America.

I’m feeling exasperated by the currently ongoing effort by radicals and activists - the vast majority who do not live anywhere close to here and care little about the place - to hijack our crisis and turn it into some kind of opportunity for themselves. Stop doing this.

The main thing impeding this is a level of denial mixed with a paralyzing fear from state and local officials who still think that they can sit across a table from Stephen Miller and find a compromise. It’s not going to happen, or at the very least not without credible leverage, without force 4/5

Cannot believe that conservatives have expanded state Supreme Courts three times and we have decided it's uncouth to even discuss expanding the Roberts Court
Republicans love adding seats to state Supreme Courts! They've done it three times in recent years. This latest court-packing plan will shift Utah's high court far to the right and possibly flip rulings on abortion and gerrymandering.

Democrats should take note that Rs have deemed this acceptable!
This hasn’t received nearly enough attention:

Republicans just passed a law to pack Utah’s Supreme Court after it ruled against their congressional gerrymander.

Cox could appoint two more justices before the court hears the GOP’s latest appeal to preserve their gerrymander
