If I tell you I’ve spent years reading these deal announcements, you might feel a hint of the excitement and overwhelming emotion I felt when I saw my debut listed on Publishers Marketplace this morning. I don’t think this feeling will ever get old.

Oooh! Love holiday books— adult or kidlit? #momswritersclub

My villains think they’re the hero. I humanize them in my head so they always have as much motivation as my actual hero. You just can’t always see it on the page. #momswritersclub

My MCs are children, so no lattes for them! But I think they’d both appreciate a good pumpkin spice baked good 😋 #momswritersclub

With school aged kids, fall habits are definitely different from summer. I find I start a more regular routine in fall. #momswritersclub

Fall is so atmospheric and moody, perfect for creativity! I’ll be finishing up revisions for my editor and then figuring out a brand new project! #momswritersclub

Still in a happy daze after a VERY full day at the inaugural Jewish Writers #Mifgash25. So grateful to all who made it possible. Can't tag everyone, but will cite @ujafedny.bsky.social for trusting our team to make it a reality. Program details: www.theartistsagainstantisemitism.com/mifgash-sche...

I loved this book so much, wish I had discovered other diary form books at the time! The one I’m thinking of had handwriting and some kind of “how I’m feeling“ check in at the beginning... #kidlitchat

(ok, this is bothering me now that I can’t remember the name of this book!! Anyone read a book in diary form in the early 90s? #kidlitchat)
hannaneier.bsky.social
I totally did! I tended to like books in 3rd person, but I think that was because the subject matter that I enjoyed (historical fiction) was most often written in 3rd at the time. An exception was a contemporary book written in diary form which I LOVED & wish I could remember the title! #kidlitchat

Yeah, being in scene and experiential is key, and I think if it’s easier to be a show-er while writing one POV/tense or another, that’s a good thing to know about yourself as a writer!! #kidlitchat

🤣🤣🤣👏👏👏

I wrote my first MG novel in first person which was a helpful way to remind myself to stay in that #kidlit voice. Not sure what the next one will be, I think it’ll depend on the voice(s) I hear in my head. ☺️ As for reading, any POV is a good POV if done well!! #kidlitchat

TOPIC: We want to know how you decide between first person or third person when you're working on a manuscript. Do you prefer one? Do you prefer reading one to the other? (FYI: behind the scenes, emails flew and they came up with this topic.) #kidlitchat

I saw this in a PB I beta read and it was surprising and fun! #kidlitchat

2 things:
1. Spent a good 10 seconds thinking “what is a story shower?” 🚿 which might mean my brain is off for the evening… 🤣
2. Curious what about first person past tense didn’t allow you to show not tell? (If that’s what you mean) #kidlitchat
