The way Rob Reiner’s death hits me now feels the way it would if you told 6 year old me that Santa Claus was murdered. His films were imbued with so much humanity that they’ve taken on lives of their own. I’ll cherish what he gave us as long as I live. May he and his wife Michele rest in peace.

It's accurate to call him an asshole of course but he's also kind of like a primitive organism that only has reflexes and no ability to think. Bad thing happens to person who doesn't like me = good. His brain only has the thing that makes you yank your hand from a hot stove and nothing else

I think every medieval swordplay work (the Rings and Thrones adaptations, Thrones especially) that came out after owes a debt to Rob Reiner and The Princess Bride. My work certainly does. I think it’s how I learned about romance, honestly. “As you wish…”
