I tried to talk the PTA into doing a no show ball where people buy tickets and sponsorships, and there is an online silent auction, but no actual event.

They just couldn't do it. The party people needed their party. Sigh.

I wrote a check at the beginning of each semester with a note saying I was buying my way out of guilt and fundraising and if there were ever any kids who didn't have money for a field trip or the book fair, I would cover it.

It worked!

I couldn't do any of the mom groups. I just did not have more people talking and wanting me to go places and do stuff. I was already well beyond capacity.

It turned out I was desperate for some alone time.

I would like a mute button for my own brain.

I have done exhaustive research and drugs and alcohol don't work (well, not for long).

Now, I am trying to figure out how to be a fat bear so I can bulk up for the winter and sleep through the holidays.

My aeriel theme is really offerings to the travel gods. I'm on my way to Texas to see my birth family.

Security was pretty quick and everything is on time at SFO.

So, one more for luck.
