I’m not keen on absolving humans from personal responsibility, expertise, and paid labor, and that is why I raise an eyebrow at the surrender by people in charge to Autonomous Vehicles of any size/mode 🚗🚌🚊🚇

40 plus years of using computers and I am still wondering Why do computers seemingly randomly uninstall things? sometimes it’s printers, sometimes it’s a security component, just ✨poof✨ on their own decide we don’t need that anymore

there is a transit-themed holiday movie, but not tonight. Tonight was About a Boy (2002), excellent movie that includes important holiday landmarks and has an excellent cast and soundtrack

Texas families didn’t fail — the system failed them.
After decades of policy favoring profits over people, costs rose while stability disappeared.
We can choose a different path in 2026 — one that values workers, families, and communities.
Vote Democratic.

Walmart, Target, Kroger and Albertsons. We can expect more of this as regulations are rolled back for health a safety measures. Remember: every safety regulation we have is usually due to a very sad and tragic set of incidents (yes plural) that caused its necessity.
"At Walmart, recalled products were found in stores across 21 states.

In a letter to Target, the health regulator said officials in Arkansas found the company offering a $2 discount on the recalled formula from November 16 to November 22. Target had the formula in stores across 20 states."
US FDA sends warning letters to Walmart, Target for selling recalled baby formula
The FDA said four major retailers continued to sell baby formula linked to a nationwide outbreak of bacterial illness in infants even after the products were recalled.

It’s okay to dress for the weather. We’re not teenagers anymore; it’s well below freezing; it’s okay to wear a sweater *and* a warm coat. And hat and gloves.

The ACA isn't just "health care for people who don't have a conventional employer." It also disallows something that was incredibly common 20 years ago, which I fear is getting lost to generational memory: insurance companies could deny you health care for essentially any previous health problem.
I'm dubious about Amazon's commitment to keeping pre-existing conditions a thing of the past.
