Rick went out of his way to literally fight fascism in Ethiopia and Spain and then it came and found him in Paris. Disillusioned and broken, he ended up in Casablanca, where the fight found him again. In spite of himself he rejoined the fight. It's an inspiring movie.

I just rewatched Casablanca again. Every time, it's wild to me that this movie's reputation mostly hangs on the doomed romance hook, but really the movie is mostly about how people (of privilege) respond to fascism and the different ways it breaks people.

To be clear, we could probably pay for an upgraded cable tv package or pay some exorbitant amount to subscribe to their bespoke streaming services, but fuck them. The one thing NFL does right is that you can always watch your local team over broadcast TV.

I lived on Harrison when Buzz opened. I think I've been there 3, maybe 4 times, not my vibe. That said, it felt like it anchored the arts district and it was definitely a rite of passage for new moms to venture out of the house to meet a friend there. I'll pour out a shot of espresso for them.
