Oh and BTW, AI users, that hollow feeling of dissatisfaction you feel after you've generated 25000 pictures?

That's why?

You're not learning anything. You're not improving yourselves. You know, deep down, that you haven't created anything.

Thus the "feeling dissatisfied" thing.

When Rob Reiner was on his all-time epic run at the start of his career, he had an opportunity to read a script that was looking for a production partner, and he lost his mind for it. He decided Castle Rock had to have it, no matter what.

As we mourn Rob Reiner, don’t skip this: he was, pretty much, personally responsible for overturning California’s Prop 8 banning same sex marriage.

Huh. It's almost as if forcing customers into a technosocial paradigm of "AI" which a) many of them actively dislike for lots of reasons, b) has no meaningful public use cases, & c) is just shit-terrible at what you claim it can do Isn't good business strategy. 🤔
“tests from earlier this year found that AI agents failed to complete tasks up to 70% of the time, making them almost entirely redundant as a workforce replacement tool.”

this field biologist does a great job highlighting the insidiousness of AI editing

these one-click AI edit buttons are incredibly appealing to many photographers, amateurs and professionals alike, and are framed as innocuous

this is worth sharing and educating people about

AI has actively made life worse for literally everyone

- tech is now more expensive
- you cannot trust most media of reality anymore
- programs barely function
- energy prices
- literal psychosis
- your voice can be literally stolen for evil
- more spyware

but hey, you can avoid paying an artist.

As you may know, I have stopped using Twitter, and have decided to reproduce some of my more memorable threads here for posterity. Here’s one I hold wrote after a particularly engaging swordfighting lesson.

Buckle up, swordfighting fans, because I *have* studied my Agrippa!

DAMN RIGHT.

As you may've heard, Trump had some Trumpy comments.

If you haven't seen them, you can damn well imagine.

Fuck that orange waste of oxygen.

Celebrate Rob's career and keep on laughing.
Refuse to acknowledge the rants of a psychopath and sadist. Celebrate Rob Reiner and his all of his beautiful films. Watch them. Laugh with them. Cry with them. Share them.

Murder: bad

Thanks for coming to my TED Talk.
If you're looking for the proper anti-Zionist response to the mass murder in Australia, it's pretty simple at this stage

You just say, "Holy shit it is really bad that that happened, and I hope the perpetrators are brought to justice"

Keep it simple, folks

This is from a Republican senator. He doesn't attack extremists or terrorists, nope, he attacks 1.7 billion people.

Meanwhile, he still supports Trump and makes excuses for the Jan 6 violent insurrection.

The cultural impact of Rob Reiner cannot be understated. Legend isn't big enough a word. It goes to 11. You can't handle the truth. As you wish. I'll have what she's having. I'm your number one fan. You guys wanna see a dead body? The very idea of a bucket list. The West Wing.

Choosing to focus, on hearing the news of Rob Reiner's passing, to remember this moment where he was so overcome with joy and laughter that he - the director of the movie - was one of many people banished from the set in order to finish filming.
TIL nearly all of the "Miracle Max" scene from Princess Bride was improvised by Billy Crystal, and it took three ten hour days to shoot, because they couldn't get through his improv without everyone (cast and crew) laughing so hard it ruined the audio.

Mandy Patinkin bruised a rib holding it in.
