One of the defining feelings in American life, for decades now, is elites doing plainly criminal shit and nothing at all happening as a result. It is deranging in a way that virtually nothing else is. Media fixates on perceived street lawlessness but shit like this matters much more in my opinion.

The crazy thing about paying $800/mo for health insurance is that it actually costs way more than that and my employer is covering most of it.

I love needing a referral for mental health services because every time they're like "yeah you have problems but it seems like you're coping well enough so we don't think you need any help" and it would be cool to not be a pile of coping strategies in a trenchcoat

I am getting the good insurance next year and investing in fixing my body as much as I can because this may be my last opportunity. I'll have to work even more hours to make it happen so who knows if it will even be a net gain.
