ICE murdered Renee Nicole Good, a wife and mother, U.S. citizen, and beloved community member, for supporting her neighbors amidst their reign of terror.

We are furious and grieving. And we are channeling our rage into action.

It bears emphasizing: The same admin that is attacking and defunding our universities, over what they call an antisemitism crisis, is now saying antisemitism isn't a problem at all.

The ADL of today seems to have three interests: keeping their right wing mega-donors happy, protecting the current Israeli government’s violent far-right agenda by conflating criticism of Israel with antisemitism, and cozying up to Trump to stay close to power.

And we were disappointed but not surprised to see today’s ADL report continue their conflation of criticism of the Israeli government’s actions with antisemitism.

A message from our CEO, Jamie Beran:

We’ve been heartened to see the many Jewish organizations that didn’t support candidate @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social working with Mayor-elect Mamdani in good faith for the welfare of New Yorkers.

Life under occupation & apartheid.

Israeli forces are demolishing a residential building in occupied East Jerusalem that was home to around 100 Palestinians. The Palestinians were attacked by Israeli settlers as they were forced from their homes.

"The reality is that security guards and law enforcement in this country learn to treat Brown and Black people as a threat. … As a Brown Jewish man, I am afraid to even walk near a synagogue, let alone go into one, at a time like this. This experience is not mine alone."

A PERSONAL APPEAL TO MY AMERICAN JEWISH FAMILY

At this moment in history, when everything hangs in the balance, we must choose the side of life, freedom, and solidarity. The only true safety is shared safety.

Ahmed al Ahmed, a Muslim immigrant from Syria, blessed the world with a shining example of this vision when he risked his own life, and sustained injuries, to protect Hanukkah revelers under gunfire. We are filled with awe and gratitude at his courage and compassion.

We owe it not just to the victims of this attack, but to all victims of all antisemitic attacks, to find within ourselves the courage, the integrity, and the love necessary to reject that path. The Jewish future demands that we build our safety instead on a foundation of solidarity and partnership.
December 15, 2025 at 5:30 PM
But this attack was yet another gut-wrenching reminder that generations of investment in these approaches have failed to make us safe.
December 15, 2025 at 5:30 PM
Already, Benjamin Netanyahu and other demagogues are seeking to exploit these 15 deaths, and our fear and heartbreak, for their own agendas, by offering us an empty promise of Jewish safety through walls, weapons, and repression.
December 15, 2025 at 5:30 PM
Yet again, with fear in our hearts, we are forced to ask: How are we to find safety?
December 15, 2025 at 5:30 PM
We are devastated and heartbroken by the shooting this weekend at a Hanukkah gathering in Sydney. We mourn with the victims and their loved ones, and we hold our community close in grief and fear. May the memories of the 15 people killed, the 15 universes destroyed, be a blessing.

As millions of Jews are getting ready to light the first Chanukah candle, we are crying with our Jewish community in Sydney.

At least 11 murdered and 29 injured at a Hanukkah Celebration 😭
