Again…why does the nationality, race, or religion of a suspect determine if something is considered terrorism or not? This has always seemed crazy to me.
NEWS via NBC

National guard shooting is being investigated as an act of terrorism.

The suspect has been identified as an Afghan national.

A sad irony in Washington, D.C., where West Virginia National Guardsmen were shot today. Six days ago, a court ruled their deployment was illegal, but stayed the order pending appeal. My heart goes out to these public servants and their families. oag.dc.gov/sites/defaul...

This is nuts!

Why is WAPO writing up anyone’s speculation about who the suspect might be?

I get that Laura’s statements and actions are at times newsworthy given her influence on Trump, but no one’s speculation — outside of a government official’s — should be written up this way.
November 26, 2025 at 11:51 PM
This is the downside of a mayor not aggressively pushing back on deployment against the law without an emergency. No one should be killed just doing their jobs, especially when the job is not necessary.
November 26, 2025 at 10:54 PM
I haven’t checked. Does anyone know how many members of the military have been randomly shot in DC in the last 50 years prior to being deployed to walk around DC by Donald Trump?
November 26, 2025 at 10:52 PM
Yes, let’s add more random national guard to DC for no reason to walk around and do nothing.

Make it make sense.

WV residents should be livid that their loved ones are wasting time in DC.
Pete Hegseth says Trump has asked him to add 500 more National Guard troops to Washington D.C.

It's unclear why he seems to be smirking throughout much of this.

Turns out Mamdani's controversial proposal for government-run supermarkets isn't so novel. Other cities also are toying with the idea to bring fresh, affordable food to communities that do not have easy access to it. Good WSJ read (gift link)

Goldberg has turned the Atlantic into a troll factory, an amoral operation that seeks controversy for clicks, not truth.

In that he and AG Sulzberger bear similar great responsibility for the end of the American republic.

They have failed to convey truth to their readers.
