The referee would have stepped in by now but they had knocked him out with a steel chair. The only others watching were either fascists themselves or the people trying to fight fascism with the power of love and kindness and they weren't having a great go of it either. I kept trying to explain in between haymakers that we were better than this and on top of that it wasn't likely to be ruled on favorably as far as the courts. None of it helped. I was on my knees now bleeding profusely from the mouth and nose. It spilled out of me onto the snow in a pattern that if you sort of squinted at it from the right vantage looked like a cartoon heart. See that I pointed. Look how beautiful the world can be I tried to say through my broken teeth. Alright well now he was pulling out a gun. I didn't think we were allowed do that.

One thing about Minneapolis is most everyone knows where to go and what to do. I don’t generally see locals doom-posting. They’re out at vigils and protests or running mutual aid. My block leader and neighbors have already disseminated information about where to direct resources, effort, and energy.

Local state or federal doesn't matter. Police kill. They don't protect people.

And tbh the disease is foundational. Because slavery, genocide, imperialism...they could only lead here. But let's narrow the scope to 100 years. Whether it is Kent State or Bull Connor or Stonewall this violence has always been here. ICE is a symptom, the disease is the way we ignore bigotry.

Knowing when & how to quit things and leave is emotionally intelligent & healthy.

The article's attitude is dangerous. When you're being abused, harmed or generally chronically mistreated escape is important.

Not everything can or should be saved, especially when talking companies.

They did this in Chicago multiple times including an elementary schools. They used Chemical weapons in a neighborhood right before the little kids were going to do a Halloween parade too.

I'm unsurprised yet frustrated by how little people not in the impacted cities & not activists know.

Only a few hours after ICE agent Jonathan Ross shot and killed Minneapolis resident and mother Renee Good on January 7, federal immigration enforcement agents descended onto Roosevelt High School property during school dismissal as students were exiting the building. MFE members say that ICE agents tackled and detained a school staff member and union member who was working at the time. The MFE member was since released, according to a union spokesperson. The agents also deployed a chemical irritant against students and staff on school grounds, MFE says. A school official, speaking to MPR News on condition of anonymity, said many students sheltered in a nearby library.
