I would argue your average journalist has a room temp IQ. There are some GREAT ones. But most journalists just failed out of English 101. They believe government lies, and have for a century, because they are v dumb.

I’m old enough to remember that storing emails on a non sanctioned server by a cabinet member unleashed literally hundreds of damning emails. It made everyone involved unfit for the office. I guess it’s fine now.

He had a hit called “proud to be an American” like 40 years ago. I mean, it’s a stirring song. Unobjectionable. But that’s why they keep saying that.

Also it was written before patriotism strictly meant pro-fascist.
