Amazon announced 14,000 layoffs. Its CEO made over $40M last year.

UPS announced 48,000 layoffs. Its CEO made over $24M last year.

Intel announced 20,000 layoffs. Its new CEO's pay package is valued at nearly $69M.

This is what I mean when I say the system is rigged.

108 years ago, the US military carried out the largest mass execution in American history. In December 1917, the military hanged 13 soldiers. Another 6 were hanged less than a year later.

Yes...they were all Black soldiers.

It's best known as the Houston Riot of 1917

2. In 1917, the United States had just formally entered WWI. The war department had rushed to create two new military training facilities, both in Harris County, Texas.

The 24th Black infantry was ordered to guard one of the sites called Camp Logan in Houston.

3. Houston was strictly segregated city as were most cities in the South in 1917.

Despite guarding the camp, the Black soldiers were forced to endure the worst indignities from both the Houston police department & regular citizens.

4. They were forced to move off the sidewalk for white people, put in segregated cars, and regularly physically harassed by the Houston PD.

On the backdrop of the violent massacre that had occured in E St Louis that same year and Waco the previous year, racial tensions were on high.

5. In August, two HPD officers interrupted a gathering in a Black neighborhood by shooting into the air. Some of the Black soldiers fled and were chased by the officers.

Not finding them, they dragged and arrested a Black woman from her home they thought was hiding one of the soldiers.

6. When a Black soldier offered to take custody of the woman, he was pistol whipped and arrested himself.

When another soldier came to inquire where they'd taken their comrade, they pistol whipped and shot at him as he fled into a nearby home.

They followed him, beat him, and arrested him

7. Rumor got out that the police had killed their comrades, and infuriated began to plot their revenge.

Soon a rumor came out that a large lynch mob was marching on Camp Logan where the soldiers were stationed.

Undeterred, they armed themselves ready for battle.

9. Despite the fact it was a clear case of self-defense, 110 soldiers were convicted of at least one charge. 63 were sentenced to life on prison, 19 were sentenced to be hanged despite the fact most of the men never fired a weapon.

Some weren't even there.

No white police officers were punished

Do political science profs have to explain to their students that, for most of American history, it was actually borderline unthinkable that elected officials and their spokespersons would constantly talk like trashy reality show contestants?
After calling Schumer a "Palestinian," Leavitt refers to "Gavin Newscum." So she's just ripping off her boss's smears now.

Steelers being predictable is probably one of their biggest issues, but the bigger issue is being that simple we shouldn’t have as many lapses in coverage, missed run fits and overall big plays happening.
Feels like the Steelers are really missing the low-hanging fruit by not moving Watt around more often

Seeing the discussion shift from Pokopia of people being excited to the negativity is wild

I've seen it called an asset flip, having no depth and "should be free" all because of the damn Game Key Card.

Nuance is dead.
The internet is actually filled with idiots regurgitating BS from creators

I don't know what's more arcane, the naming/numbering system for the various seasons and spinoffs, or the fact that they're all split over 20 different streaming platforms. Honestly shocked Nintendo hasn't got a dedicated paid streaming platform.

#pokemon #PokemonZA I can say I throughly enjoyed this game more so than I thought I would. I get what ppl complain about with textures, but I only noticed it cuz I knew about it from other ppls complaints. What bothered me was no abilities, other than that the battle system was really good IMO.

Pokémon and Nintendo really have a big hate grifting problem and this nonsense drowns out all actual valid criticism.
