The street in Minneapolis where Renee Good was killed by ICE. Now a place of pilgrimage. Steady stream of people laying flowers and paying their respects. Many in tears and speaking of the deep fear they have of the federal government itself.

The govt has launched a new TikTok that shows videos of people being handcuffed, bundled into police cars and frogmarched into detention centres. Why? It's a cruel, desperate bid for attention from a government failing to actually improve people's lives

'The Government's Deportations TikTok Is A New, Deeply Disturbing Low'
Writing for HuffPost UK, Green Party MP Carla Denyer said it was a "gross dereliction of duty" and simply unforgivable".

One huge error with HS2 was framing it as about the ‘S’ - speed.

It was and should be about capacity.

And the midlands and the north need greater rail capacity.
I was 20 when HS2 was announced. Great to know i’ll probably be in my late 60s when the Birmingham-Manchester section starts work let alone finishes. Seems like a country doing things the right way!

Brum’s flagship cycleway has been closed for 2+ weeks with no diversion. Roadworks could be fixed with a simple cycle light, but Kier has said “wait till the junction is fixed”People are using it anyway - it’s now covered in debris and still safer than the road but apparently safety isn’t a priority

I don’t know what’s worse tbh - the small ones were a blight, but these canisters are heavy and awkward for litter pickers. I’ve also seen extra-large helium canisters dumped. Bigger issue is that more is being inhaled at once. Either way, the problem clearly hasn’t gone away
