There were Gatso cameras in both locations until approx 15 years ago, when they were switched off.
Since then speeding and racing has increased including through Moseley Village.
We are asking for Alcester Road to be included in the next round of average speed cameras to be installed in the city
izzyknowles.bsky.social
Following requests from residents on Alcester Road, myself & Philip Mills are calling for a re-introduction of speed cameras on Alcester Road outside Park Hill and King David schools.

A month ago I wrote this story about the rise of a new kind of credit card scam in Chicago - basically it is fake charity collectors (or equally people pretending to collect money for funerals or sports clubs) who then run giant bills on your card: www.economist.com/united-state...
Chicago’s criminals are learning more lucrative tricks
A new scam is becoming common in the city

"15 years ago, Polish workers came here to find opportunity. Now Poland is growing twice as fast as we are," says Kemi Badenoch.

Any ideas what may have happened in the interim?

56% say Brexit was a mistake.

Only 31% think it was right.

So chuffed to hear King’s Heath Park garden nursery is to be saved from closure. This u turn is absolutely down to significant community opposition and a petition of almost £5000 signatures.
Thank you to everyone who helped with this campaign, especially the Parks friend’s groups. #communitypower

I think the officers (& supervisors) need to read S132 Highways Act 1980: A person who, without consent of the highway authority, affixes any picture, letter, sign or other mark on any tree, structure or works on or in a highway is guilty of an offence.

She was arrested for holding a sign reading:

“I do not support the proscription of Palestine Action”

How that would warrant arrest is very unclear. I wonder if the police here even understand the boundaries of the bizarre law they’ve been forced to enforce.

I saw the waste containers in Pitmaston Court and outside Hamsa Mosque haven’t been emptied, so I’ll report them for collection.
I also checked on some land in Sandford Rd where there is often fly tipping. Some building work has begun there so I shall check that out with planning.

Canvassing today in Church Rd & later in Moor Green Lane area for our great by election candidate Philip Mills.
Noticed a keep left bollard had come away from the base & blown into the road, so I reported it on @fixmystreet.bsky.social
It’s a really good app for getting small jobs like this fixed

If this is true it’s disgraceful. Effectively decriminalising theft, empowering criminals and discouraging use of public transport.

Huge thanks to Moseley Forum for hosting a Road Safety Open Meeting 🙏 Our Chair, Martin Price, joined Mat MacDonald, Sarah Chaundler (City of Cars) & Cllr Izzy Knowles. Great to see prospective candidates + residents debating how to make our streets safer, healthier & more liveable

I am already in contact with faith leaders to support a local interfaith forum. I have also reached out to offer support and reassurance to the head of King David School in Moseley.

I am devastated to hear of the news of an attack on a Jewish community in Manchester on Yom Kippur.
My thoughts are with the local Jewish community who will now be fearful on an important day of observance in the Jewish calendar.

I’m appalled at the behaviour of some of the USA fans at the Ryder cup, loud support is acceptable, but screaming abuse at European players when they are trying to play a shot is unacceptable.
