And yet, whoever wrote this message linking to the article, seems to bend theirselves over backwards to imply an unfortunate consequence, rather than an explicit purpose.

Ik snap wat je bedoelt. Maar mensen die vrijwillig voor sekswerk kiezen, zitten in een totaal andere situatie dan heroïnejunkies die zich ertoe genoodzaakt voelen.

Het was expliciet die laatste categorie waar Oudkerk zich van bediende, dat kun je IMO wel als misbruik van andermans ellende zien.

Should a country be allowed to commit genocide?

If your answer is anything other than an unequivocal “NO”, you are part of the problem.

And even though my home city isn’t huge, it’s in close proximity (an hour’s bike ride or ten minutes by train) to two bigger cities. That allows easy access to a wide variety of cultural events, book shops and record stores.

Voor wie blijft volhouden dat tegenstanders van zionisme er simpelweg een verkeerde definitie van op nahouden; dit is hoe het anno 2025 door de Israëlische regering zelf gedefinieerd wordt.

De ultrarechtse minister van Financiën Bezalel Smotrich zei dat hij groen licht zal geven voor de bouw van ruim 3000 woningen voor Israëlische kolonisten. Daarmee zou Ma'ale Adoemim feitelijk aan Jeruzalem worden vastgebouwd. "Na decennia van internationale druk en bevriezingen van het plan, breken we met conventies. Dit is Zionisme op z'n best", zei Smotrich. Volgens hem "begraaft" de bouw definitief het idee van een Palestijnse staat.
