The parents of a 7 year old, all of whom are in the process of applying for asylum, took their daughter to the ER when her nose wouldn't stop bleeding. ICE picked them up near the hospital and they are now in detention in Texas, presumably awaiting deportation. www.oregonlive.com/portland/202...

I think about this a lot: the fact that it's "inconceivable" is a HUGE part of the problem. Hey folks: conceive of it. That's the necessary first step. This fascism is in fact happening, and the whole "I can't imagine" part is stopping a lot of progress in overcoming it.

Turns out being loud and blunt about why genAI is bad dose mean something and make a difference. If the 8 or 9 dudes who are pushing this rubbish cos they have invested the worlds GDP into it also need the publics willingness well turns out maybe it very much is a rubbish bit of tech.
