i'm actually struck by how pete hegseth isn't just a cowardly man but a capital-c Coward. a guy who gets off on abusing and hurting people he thinks are weaker than him and then tries to run and hide when there might be consequences

Keep excellent records of all federal agents and officers involved, including actions taken by each.
Last week, ICE arrested and separated a father and son after a routine check-in. Six-year-old Yuanxin had just enrolled in the first grade at an elementary school in Astoria. Now he's in custody, alone. ICE won't say where. This cruelty serves no one. It must end.

As in, now.
The most dangerous moment in every authoritarian regime is when it realizes that its power has crested and is now falling. This is when they realize that if they are to achieve their maximalist ambitions, now they have to throw the dice — because no matter how bad the odds, their odds are best now.

A war crime was captured on videotape. Prosecution should not be difficult.
I’m sure the self-proclaimed ‘most transparent White House in history’ won’t mind a thorough investigation into the second strike.

I see fascist Leader / crime boss / conservative, Republican president Lord Dampnut is really jumping on the cryptocurrency bandwagon, isn't he? Well, I guess all the criminals, drug dealers, warlords, foreign despots go for that because of complications tracking their transactions, so it fits.

yes.
Members of Congress should be banned from ever becoming lobbyists.

PERIOD.

That’s why I’m leading an effort with @ocasio-cortez.house.gov to enact that exact prohibition into law.

He has the concept for a plan.
Demolishing the East Wing of the White House before finalizing plans for what will be built above its ruins is a near-perfect metaphor for Trump's approach to economic policy. The only difference is the wrecking crew doesn’t claim the rubble is evidence of unprecedented growth.

Facts
If Kamala Harris were President today Sarah Beckstrom would still be alive and Andrew Wolfe would not be in a Washington DC hospital ICU fighting for his life.

In case you’re wondering why Pete Hegseth is freaking out about a congressional video reminding the military not to participate in illegal orders:
To put a finer point on this whole thing: "Two people with direct knowledge of the operation" — presumably uniformed military leaders — are accusing the U.S. Secretary of Defense of personally ordering specific war crimes. That's a historic accusation.
Textbook war crime/extrajudicial killing

"Two survivors were clinging to the smoldering wreck. The Special Operations commander overseeing the Sept. 2 attack ... ordered a second strike to comply with Hegseth’s instructions."

Almost like they were hoping for something bad to happen.
Didn’t the FBi pull a lot of personnel from anti terrorism to put them on deportations?

Actually the whole security establishment pivoted

Place the blame where it belongs.
National Guard troops don't sign up to be used as political pawns. They sign up to serve their country, not needlessly deploy to American cities to pick up garbage. These two soldiers should be alive right now and at home with their families for Thanksgiving. I'm furious.

precisely my thought. the president and his dumbass republican allies put these men and women into harm’s way for a political stunt and look what has happened
Whether this was random street crime or targeted political violence, I think it was bad for the president to unnecessarily put the National Guard in harm’s way like this. They simply don’t need to be there.

Craziness still ramping up even as MAGA goes down.
NEW: ICE has torn up its $180M cap on a proposed immigrant-tracking program and is now guaranteeing private surveillance firms at least $7.5M each, with potential payouts reaching $281M per vendor. The change signals a shift from “pilot” to full-scale outsourcing of street-level investigative work.

DOGE was not a money-saving effort. It was an effort to chase down and prove right-wing conspiracy theories. They went after USAID to prove conspiracy theories about foreign aid. Then they went after SSA to, again, pursue conspiracy theories about Dems paying "illegals" to vote. 1/2
All DOGE accomplished was purging critical government staff, handing private data to outsiders, and sentencing thousands in developing countries to death by gutting USAID.

I don’t say this lightly: if there were any justice in this world, the people responsible for this devastation would be in jail

Recording all crimes now in progress is a monumental but crucial task.
Trump recently pardoned many people involved in his attempt to overturn the 2020 election results, including the fake electors.

We fought to expose the truth and these pardons can’t erase that. We were the first to obtain the fake elector certificates.
