Reporters who fact-check Trump to his face are not “stupid”, they are not “piggies”, and they are not “ugly”. They are doing their jobs, and doing it under pressure most of us will never experience.

We should be grateful for their service. I appreciate their courage now more than ever.

as a reporter, the part of this that i’ve simply never understood is how the next person to ask a question when he does something like this doesn’t simply repeat the question that set him off. it’s not just solidarity with your colleague, it’s an important question that remains worth asking
I’m not going to pretend it’s easy to say something in the moment when you witness the president do this and you’re aboard Air Force One with all the uniformed officers and secret service and fancy wood accents, but this is really an instance where you should. people.com/donald-trump...

Ruby Bridges is 71. Emmett Till would have been 70.

The Civil Rights Act is only 61 years old. Loving is 58.

Less than a generation ago.
there are quite a few white folks who vividly recall and rather miss Jim Crow alive and voting in this country right now
I honestly don’t see how anyone can see it any other way if they are honest. Jim Crow was only ~60 years ago! Are we really pretending that the insane racism just suddenly disappeared? This is to say nothing of the hundreds of examples we all have of seeing casual racism in everyday life

Democrats should be drawing up legislation right now, this very minute, to bar Trump from helping himself to $230 million in taxpayer funds from DOJ. Challenge Republicans to hold a vote on it. Push this so hard in the media that every GOP Senate and House candidate is pressed to comment on it.

Why are credible news platforms still platforming these kinds of lies and liars who tell them?
CNN: Do you really believe that the 7 million attendees who participated this weekend hate the United States of America?

REP. LISA McCLAIN: Well, look at what they're standing for. They're standing for communism. They're standing for antisemitism.

South Carolina Democrats win nearly 45% of the vote yet hold just 1 of 7 congressional seats. That’s not balance, that’s a rigged system.

We stand with Rep. Clyburn in fighting for fair maps and fair representation.

Understand what they are doing: using the massive power of the state - including military power and the power to imprison - to carry out a campaign to eliminate their political opposition.

It's growing in seriousness by the hour.

I’m becoming more and more concerned that people at high levels of public discussion cannot identify the difference between a genuinely viral conversation vs a bunch of bots making noise.
“Bots or likely bots authored 44.5% of X posts mentioning Cracker Barrel in the 24 hours after the new logo gained attention on Aug. 20, according to research for ⁦‪@WSJ‬⁩ by PeakMetrics. That number rose to 49% among posts calling for a boycott.”
